PolyU If all X cannot reach Level 2, M1/M2 can replaced other electives. M1/M2 cannot replaced a full X, because it is considered as an extension. As for the calculation of reference score, M1/M2 will be taken into account. The weighting can be found at the polyU website (i.e. Subject with highest weighting. Students should put emphasis on a particular subject in order to increase your admission scores. In case of same admission scores, extra electives will be taken into account as the tie-breaker. However, since the chance of getting admission scores is higher, so students should also put effort on other electives. It seems that PolyU place more emphasis on core, weighting is 7, or 10.

UST - At least 2Xs - The weighting of M1/M2 is higher in science and engineer more than SBM and SHSS. - To maximize your chance of study in UST, English is more important than the other subjects in general. E.g. Studying ICT and PE can apply for Engineer, but the students take no advantages. videochannel.ust.hk

 同學必須了解聯招制度和學系要求，「很多學系不錄取組別 Ｂ的學生，組別Ａ的 3 個選擇極為重要， 3 個選擇中應包括有 興趣及成績要求較低、較有保障的課程」。 ( 香港理工大學學 生輔導網絡主任崔日雄指出 )  需要面試的學科基於申請人數眾多為由, 會優先考慮把該學 科放於 Band A 的申請人, 故同學必須考慮選科優次, 以爭取 面試機會  同學應留意部分課程在放榜前已設面試，若同學錯過了面試， 記緊不要再把該課程放在組別 A 。 ( 香港輔導教師協會榮譽顧 問趙榮德亦提醒 )  同學應留意部分課程過往循聯招錄取的人數跟學額有很大差 別，如學額很多，但聯招錄取很少人，「這表示這學系中， 很多同學依非聯招途徑入學，聯招的競爭或會很激烈」。 ( 香 港理工大學學生輔導網絡主任崔日雄 ) 專家建議

 參考過去 3 至 5 年收生成績中位數  必須小心解讀「 Band A 報讀人數」 及「每學額競 爭人數」, 留心競爭人數少會否因為該學科收生成績高。而 競爭人數多會否因該學科收生成績低而多人選作「水泡」, 也要切記此等數字在最後改選前後或會有很大出入  四分三位數的數據亦很具參考價值，「憑四分三位數可估 計該課程的最低收生成績，一般而言，同學選科時，成績 應比學科的四分三位數成績高一些，才算是保險」。 ( 香 港 理工大學學生輔導網絡主任崔日雄指出 ) 新生入學成績 (Admission Grade)
