A 5-Day Hands-on Industrial Hygiene Course (W- 501) Dr. Jas Singh has over 30 years of experience providing Industrial Hygiene consulting to Governmental, Industrial and Institutional organizations in the USA and abroad. Dr. Singh has served on the Board of Directors of the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) as well as on the Board of the American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH). He is the past President of the Academy of Industrial Hygiene (AIH). Dr. Singh has extensive experience in performing IH projects and workshops for multinational companies in China. The aim of the course is to provide attendees with a sound understanding of the techniques for identifying and assessing exposure to hazardous substances in the workplace. It will also assist with understanding of how exposure information can be used to asses health risk.  Upon successful completion, attendees will be able to:  Identify chemical exposures during various industrial processes Understand the approach to occupational chemical health risk assessment Develop appropriate exposure monitoring strategies Select standard methods and proper equipment to perform industrial hygiene exposure monitoring Interpret air monitoring data and make informed decisions For those W-501 attendees, who want to sit for the CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) exam by the ABIH (American Board of Industrial Hygiene), a 2-Hr ethics training will be provided by Dr. Jas Singh, CIH at no cost on Friday afternoon. The 2-Hr ethics training is mandatory  for eligibility for CIH examination. Upon completion of the coursework and passing the exam, participants will receive a training certificate issued by the British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS), and endorsed by the International Occupational Hygiene Association (IOHA) and its member organizations. The American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH) has approved this course for 5.34 CIH Certification Maintenance (CM) points. Attendees will also accumulate 40-hours of IH education credits which they can use to meet the eligibility of taking the CIH exam. Training materials for this course will be in both English and Chinese. Mr. William Zhu is Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) and Senior IH Consultant at Golder Shanghai office. He has conducted a number of IH assessments, audits and training for multinational clients in China. Mr. Zhu was profiled in the AIHA Synergist.
