Sepam B80 The remanent voltage on the busbars is caused by the remanent voltage produced by motors for approximately 100 ms following disconnection (longer for synchronous motors and capacitors). The check on the remanent voltage avoids closing the incomer circuit breaker for the necessary period. Presence of remanent voltage when the motors are re-energized can seriously damage the motors. Sepam B80 can also be used ins the same way as B83, in which case only one voltage is measured on the two 1/2 busbars and the 59N protection function is not possible.
