2 何謂音樂劇？ 音樂劇（Musical）又稱 歌舞劇，是一種結合音樂、 戲劇與舞蹈的表演，由歐洲 的歌劇與輕歌劇轉化而來， 最早的演出出現在十七世紀 的英國。音樂劇中，歌曲以 對白帶動劇情，因此曾被稱 為「對話歌劇」。和十六世 紀末開始出現的「歌劇」 （Opera）雖有些相似， 但還是有很多的分別。

3 何謂音樂劇？ 歌劇與音樂劇皆以音樂來說故事，但相較之下，音樂劇更重視舞蹈及戲劇性，講究舞台的聲光效果。安德魯．洛伊．韋伯（Andrew Lloyd Weber）堪稱當代最受歡迎的音樂劇作曲家之一，二十世紀票房收入最高的「歌劇魅影」（The Phantom of The Opera），以及在英、美演出紀錄最長的「貓」（Cats），都是他的代表作。

4 何謂音樂劇？ 音樂劇的重鎮在美國紐約的百老匯和英國 倫敦的西區，許多著名音樂劇皆在這裡連續 上演數年。其中更有不少被改編為電影，如： 「真善美」（The Sound of Music）、「屋 頂上的提琴手」（Fidder on the Roof）、 「西城故事」（The West Side Story）、 「國王與我」（The King and I）等。
