2 Summary of data collection 数 据 搜 集 总 结
In 2001, China sent Report on the State of the Environment in China, 2000, but did not fill out the UNSD questionnaire 2001 on environment statistics. In 2004, NBS of China sent China Basic Statistics on Environment Protection, but didn’t fill out the UNSD/UNEP questionnaire 2004 on environment statistics. In 2006, OECD carried out a project on Environment Performance Review of China, which included data collection. Two sets of data are provided: Data from Ministry of Water Resources: Total water use: Agriculture use Industry use Household and Service use Ecological water use Data from Ministry of Construction (only covers city water use) Urban Population connected to water supply Public water supply and self-supply breakdown by water used by production and operation, public service, household use and fire control and other purposes. 9 Generation and discharge of waste water in in terms of pollutant discharges (BOD, population equivalent, Nitrogen and Phosporous) 废水的产生和排放，就 污 染 物 排 放而言 （BOD, 人口当量, 氮和磷.〕 Data available for: COD discharge (including industrial discharge and domestic discharge). The unit is tons/year. Nitrogen discharge ((including industrial discharge and domestic discharge). Water quality of selected rivers, at mouth or downstream frontier (2004 data ) for: The Changjiang River, Yellow River, The Huaihe River.
