2) Where did the slaves come from? The arrival of Europeans in America and the opening of farms and plantations. They came from their homes in Africa.

2) How did the slaves hold their celebrations? They painted their faces white, imitating their masters and making fun of them. They celebrated carnival with food, drink and masked dances.
