In the very short term, a currency depreciation will lead to a worsening of a nation’s trade balance But as time passes, the trade balance will likely improve Because it takes time for new information about the price effects of depreciation to be disseminated throughout the economy 29

Absorption approach Absorption can be divided up into two parts:
