Since January 2003, via ScienceDirect you’ve been able to access color images in articles, even if the journal was printed in black and white. Authors can now choose to include in articles on ScienceDirect multimedia and supplementary files to enhance article content. Some journals in ScienceDirect have pre-published articles loaded. These "Articles in Press" journals contain peer-reviewed and accepted articles to be published soon in these journals. This provides authors with early visibility of - and researchers early access to - this information. When the final article is assigned to an issue of such a journal, the "Article in Press" version is removed. "Articles in Press" do not have all bibliographic details available. There are two types of "Articles in Press": Uncorrected proofs: Articles not yet finalized which will be corrected by the authors. Text could change before final publication. Uncorrected proofs may be temporarily unavailable for production reasons. Corrected proofs: Articles containing authors' corrections. Content of the article usually will remain unchanged, and possible further corrections will be minor. Typically the only difference with the finally published article is that specific issue and page numbers have not yet been assigned. Articles in Press can be cited by using the DOI. 10 快速檢索(Quick Search) 出現在每個 ScienceDirect 頁面，包括期刊與參考資料 檢索所有期刊和訂閱的參考資料
同時檢索篇名、摘要、作者、關鍵詞 訂閱的使用者和非訂戶都可使用 檢索術語之間的關係為 AND使用雙引號做精確檢索 The quick search entry-box appears on each ScienceDirect page. This allows you to quickly enter search terms to search all journals without navigating to the more extensive search form. When you use the quick search, it searches your terms in these fields: article titles, abstracts, keywords and authors. The quick-search sources change depending on where you are on ScienceDirect. The basic search mode offers a menu-driven form that to search terms, specified sources, subjects and date ranges. You can include the Boolean operators AND, OR, AND NOT to limit your search. The All Sources search form allows you to search across multiple sources available on ScienceDirect. This includes journals, abstract databases, reference works and books. If you do not have a subscription to a particular source, it isn’t included in your search. Wen-Yau Cathy Lin (Taiwan) 2005

包括in press期刊論文 使用布林運算元（and, or, and not）和 LexisNexis 檢索語法 處理複雜和長檢索句 The advanced search mode allows you to construct more complex and lengthy search strings. The menu form is replaced with an empty search box. By using Lexis-Nexis search syntax, you can limit your search by field segments by typing in the field name, followed by all of your search terms enclosed in parentheses. Search terms are not case-sensitive. To restrict search results to terms occurring within a specific field, include a field name in your advanced search string. If in the field “Search Term” you enter “(Title) ‘Cloning,’” this searches the title of the article for the word ‘cloning’. Proximity Connectors allow you to specify the proximity between search terms. “W” represents "within.” “Nn” represents the number of words from 1 to 255. “TW/nn” does not specify word order. 16 檢索歷史(Search History) 必須在 My Profile中建立使用者名稱並登入以存取檢索歷史
The search history function allows you to save search queries for each search session for up to 7 days. You must log in or create a username to access Search History. To activate the Search History, click “Turn On” next to the Search History section. You can easily track all your searches and rerun, edit or delete any queries right from the history table. In addition to saving searches, the Search History table allows you to combine queries without rewriting them. Combine searches by selecting the box next to each query to include. ScienceDirect 並未限制檢索的文件數量 但是，ScienceDirect 只顯示 1,000 筆結果 解決之道：建議以年代限縮檢索結果 檢索找到超過 10,000 筆結果時會有提示訊息： Do you want to cancel or continue the search?（您要取消或繼續檢索？） 每一組 1,000 筆顯示結果都已排序 您可選擇按日期或相關性順序來檢視結果 If a search finds over 10,000 results, a message appears asking if you want to cancel or continue the search. When you have run a search, you have several options on the results page. You can view, edit or save the query with the search links.
