A consumer can unilaterally provision computing capabilities, such as server time and network storage, as needed automatically without requiring human interaction with each service provider. 使用者可選擇作業系統(server zoo) 使用者可依本身需要自行配置雲端運算能力，選擇所需要的伺服器、儲存空間和網路服務。 不需要等待雲端服務供應商的人員協助。

6 (2) Broad network access 廣泛的網路存取
Capabilities are available over the network and accessed through standard mechanisms that promote use by heterogeneous thin or thick client platforms (e.g., mobile phones, tablets, laptops, and workstations). 服務能力是透過網路提供。 支援各種用戶端設備的連結。 支援傳統服務或是其他雲端服務。

The provider’s computing resources are pooled to serve multiple consumers using a multi-tenant model, with different physical and virtual resources dynamically assigned and reassigned according to consumer demand. Capabilities can be elastically provisioned and released, in some cases automatically, to scale rapidly outward and inward commensurate with demand. Cloud systems automatically control and optimize resource use by leveraging a metering capability at some level of abstraction appropriate to the type of service (e.g., storage, processing, bandwidth, and active user accounts). The capability provided to the consumer is to deploy onto the cloud infrastructure consumer-created or acquired applications created using programming languages, libraries, services, and tools supported by the provider. The consumer does not manage or control the underlying cloud infrastructure including network, servers, operating systems(作業系統) , or storage, but has control over the deployed applications and possibly configuration settings for the application-hosting environment.
