2 五、特殊的省略 1、由“hence”引出的省略句 由“hence”(有时也可由“thus”)引出的句子经常省去谓语动词“comes”(或“results”),一般可译成“因而得到了……”。 The stream(流) of electrons is emitted(发射) from the cathode(阴极) of the electron gun(电子枪), hence the name “cathode ray(阴极射线).” The transistor(晶体管) in the figure(图) has its semiconductor(半导体) materials(材料) arranged(排列) p-n-p, hence the name pnp transistor.
