Optional FireFox extension [ be used to annotate password-protected web pages. Annotate the Web for Firefox browser [ currently in alpha testing. Annotea Ubimarks for Mozilla browsers [ Annotea for the W3C's Amaya browser. [ Annoty/eLAWS Web Service-based system. [ Annozilla for Mozilla browsers. [ E-Marked Fully featured easy to use commercial system.[ Marginalia Adds text highlighting and margin note capabilities to web applications. Open sourced and JavaScript-based; works with Firefox and Internet Explorer (no plug-in required). [ Stickis with toolbars for Firefox and IE. [ Warichu for social annotation, bookmarking and researching (download). Allows users to add annotations to pages for both public and private use.[ Wikalong for Firefox [ World Forum for all browsers (except Safari and MSIE for Mac). Creates a discussion forum on any homepage, document or ftp site. No plugin required. Client-side use JavaScript only. [ YAWAS Yet Another Web Annotation System. Lee (1997) & Kubota (2001) --- Students’ major difficulty in error correction lies in their failure to detect errors rather than the lack of knowledge . Ferris ( 1995), Leki (1991), & Truscott (1996)---L2 students themselves want and expect feedback on their written errors from their teachers. Yates & Kenkel (2002)---A central concern of EFL writing teachers is how to respond to what students write. Zamel (1983)---Writing teachers should consider ways to incorporate student feedback into their courses more thoroughly. van Els et al. (1984, p. 66)--- “[Error analysis] has too often remained a static, product-oriented type of research, whereas L2 learning processes require a dynamic approach focusing on the actual course of the process”. Peterson (2001)---Online technologies can offer new ways of gathering L2 learning processes from students. Dagneaux, Denness, & Granger ( 1998)---Teachers should consider new and emerging technologies and the capabilities they add to our approaches to teaching and supporting the distant learner. Ovsiannikov, Arbib, & Mcneill (1999)---Online annotations involve four major functions: remembering, thinking, clarifying, and sharing. Wolfe ( 2002)---Online annotations provide readers with more opportunities for dialogue and learning through conversations.
