3 the origin of Halloween
Halloween has its origins in the ancient Celtic(凯尔特人 )festival known as Samhain(萨 温节).The festival of Samhain is a celebration of the end of the harvest season in Gaelic(盖尔 族的, 盖尔语的) culture, and is sometimes regarded as the "Celtic New Year". Traditionally, the festival was a time used by the ancient pagans(异教徒, 非基督教徒,没有宗教信仰的人) to take stock of (估计, 观察)supplies and slaughter livestock(家畜) for winter stores.

4 there is a legend on halloween,Jack, an Irishman,who was not allowed into Heaven because he was stingy(吝啬的) with his money. So he was sent to hell（地狱）. But down there he played tricks on the Devil (魔王), so he was kicked out of Hell and made to walk the earth forever carrying a lantern （灯笼） return

万圣节（HALLOWEEN）为每年的11月1日，源自古代凯尔特民族(Celtic)的新年节庆，此时也是祭祀亡魂的时刻，在避免恶灵干扰的同时，也以食物祭拜祖灵及善灵以祈平安渡过严冬，是西方传统节日。当晚小孩会穿上化妆服，戴上面具，挨家挨户收集糖果。主要流行于英语世界，如不列颠群岛和北美，其次是澳大利亚和新西兰。现在，一些亚洲国家的年轻一辈，也开始倾向于过“洋节”，到了万圣节前夕，一些大型外资超市都会摆出专柜卖万圣节的玩具，小商贩也会出售一些跟万圣节相关的玩偶或模型，吸引了年轻人的眼光。
