4 Robert McCloskey(1914-2003) 出生於1914/9/15 Hamilton Ohio
就讀於當地公共小學，當時展露出對音樂及發明的興趣 這些經歷造就Lentil, Homer Price, Centerburg三本繪本的誕生 在高中，幫助學校年報做雕版印刷 小故事：在接Robert時，友人炫耀古董花瓶，沒想到車缺發布動，靠其修好

5 Robert McCloskey 得學術研究獎進入Vesper George School of Art.(Boston)
之後進入National Academy of Design.(紐約) 曾投稿Viking Press被拒，被建議去研讀真正的繪畫 1940年出版第一本著作Lentil 也接受畫壁畫的委任，在這期間創作膾炙人口的Make Way for Ducklings

6 Robert McCloskey 第二次世界大戰爆發，在從軍前完成Homer Price
退伍後在Maine定居10年，激發多本創作，如：Blueberries for sal、Centerburg、One Morning in Maine、Time of Wonder 曾幫Journey Cake Ho!、Junket 2本繪本畫插畫

7 Make Way for Ducklings 成為波士頓的驕傲
1987年雕塑家Nancy Schön 創作書中雕像Mrs. Mallard and the ducklings 波士頓有年度Make Way for Ducklings 母親節遊行

8 Robert McCloskey 評價 2000年被美國國會圖書館稱其Living Legend
其作品幽默、發人深省，又使人愉快，總能結合想像力與不凡的人生經驗 ---美國國會圖書館 1964年，製片家 Morton Schindel與Weston Woods Studios，替其製作18分鐘的紀錄片 「Robert McCloskey」
