17 3 願 頌 讚 歸 與 我 們 主 耶 穌 基 督 的 父 神 ！ 他 曾 照 自 己 的 大 憐 憫 ， 藉 耶 穌 基 督 從 死 裡 復 活 ， 重 生 了 我 們 ， 叫 我 們 有 活 潑 的 盼 望 ， 3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

18 4 可 以 得 著 不 能 朽 壞 、 不 能 玷 污 、 不 能 衰 殘 、 為 你 們 存 留 在 天 上 的 基 業 。5 你 們 這 因 信 蒙 神 能 力 保 守 的 人 ， 必 能 得 著 所 預 備 、 到 末 世 要 顯 現 的 救 恩 。 6 因此，你們是大有喜樂；但如今, 在百般的試煉 中暫時憂愁， 4 and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade--kept in heaven for you, 5 who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. 6 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.

19 7叫你們的信心既被試驗，就比那被 火試驗仍然能壞的金子更顯寶貴, 可以在耶穌基督 顯現的時候得著稱讚、榮耀、尊貴。8你們雖然沒 有見過他，卻是愛他；如今雖不得看見，卻因信 他就有說不出來、滿有榮光的大喜樂 ； 7 These have come so that your faith--of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire--may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.8 Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy,

20 9 並 且 得 著 你 們 信 心 的 果 效 ， 就 是 靈 魂 的 救 恩 。10 論 到 這 救 恩 ， 那 預 先 說 你 們 要 得 恩 典 的 眾 先 知 早 已 詳 細 的 尋 求 考 察 11就是考察在他們心裡基督的靈，預先證明基督 受苦難，後來得榮耀, 是指著甚麼時候並怎樣的 時候。 9 for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls. 10 Concerning this salvation, the prophets, who spoke of the grace that was to come to you, searched intently and with the greatest care 11 trying to find out the time and circumstances to which the Spirit of Christ in them was pointing when he predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow.

21 12他們得了啟示，知道他們所傳講的一切 事，不是為自己 ，乃是為你們。那靠著從天上差 來的聖靈傳福音給你們的人，現在將這些事報給 你們；天使也願意詳細察看這些事。
12 It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves but you, when they spoke of the things that have now been told you by those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. Even angels long to look into these things.

25 Hebrews 3:7-13 Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says, “Today, if you hear his voice, 8 do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, on the day of testing in the wilderness, 9  where your fathers put me to the test and saw my works 10 for forty years. 27 1 John 5: Whoever believes in the Son of God has the testimony in Himself.
