8 環境教育的定義 1975年—貝爾格萊德憲章 1977年—第比利斯會議
確立了環境教育的理念和架構，包括：整全性、終身教育、科際整合、主動參與解決環境問題、地區與全球觀的均衡、促進國際發展和合作 1977年—第比利斯會議 制訂了環境教育的定義：讓學生能認識和關懷城鄉間有關經濟、社會、政治與生態的相互關係，為個人提供機會去獲得保護環境和改進環境所需的知識、技能、價值、態度和承諾，並建立對環境友善的新行為模式 至1994年，聯合國科學及文教組織提出了“爲了可持續性的教育”（Education for Sustainability） 倡導把環境教育與發展教育、人口教育等結合。宏觀的環境教育己觸及生態哲學、環境倫理和負責任的環境行為。

10 可持續發展教育的目標 A lifelong learning process that leads to an informed and involved citizenry having the creative problem-solving skills, scientific and social literacy, and commitment to engage in responsible individual and cooperative actions. These actions will help ensure an environmentally sound and economically prosperous future. (President’s Council on Sustainable Development, 1994:1)

11 可持續發展教育的目標（續） Education for sustainable development enables people to develop the knowledge, values and skills to participate in decisions about the way we do things individually and collectively, both locally and globally, that will improve the quality of life now without damaging the planet for the future. (Sustainable Development Education Panel, 1999:30)
