1. Basic meaning of sanctification is “to be set apart” [for the special service of God] 成聖的基本意義是「被分別出來」 (特別為事奉上帝) “sanctified” refers to anything specially set apart for God; to be used for His holy purposes 「成聖化」指的是任何特別為上帝所分別出來的事物, 為了祂聖潔的目的所使用.

2. “to sanctify” means to make holy or to purify 「使其成聖」的意思是使其聖潔或潔淨. It is the gracious & continuous work of the Holy Spirit in making the believer more like Jesus (2 Cor. 3:18; Rom. 8:29) 它是聖靈施恩和持續的工作, 使信徒更像耶穌 (林後3:18; 羅8:29).

3 Sanctification: a supernatural work of God 成聖: 上帝超自然的工作
(1Thess 5:23) “the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; & I pray God your whole spirit & soul & body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 帖前 5:23 願賜平安的神親自使你們全然成聖！又願你們的靈與魂與身子得蒙保守，在我主耶穌基督降臨的時候，完全無可指摘！ (24) Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it. 5:24 那召你們的本是信實的，他必成就這事。

4 3 Aspects of Sanctification 成聖的三個層面
Rom 6:22 But now being made free from sin, (the Past initial work of God in you: Born again) (I John 3:7-9) 羅6:22 - 但現今，你們既從罪裡得了釋放. (上帝過去在你裡面起初的工作: 重生. 約一3:7-9) and become servants to God, 成為神的奴僕, (a Present continuous work of God in you) (Phil. 2:13) (目前上帝在你裡面持續的工作. 腓2:13).

5 3 Aspects of Sanctification 成聖的三個層面

6 I.) A PAST SUPERNATURAL WORK OF GOD IN YOU 上帝過去在你裡面超自然的工作
Sanctification begins with the New Birth. We must be born again (John 3:3-7) 成聖從新生開始, 我們必須重生 (約3:3-7). (I Cor. 1:2) - "Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus called to be saints… 林前1:2 -寫信給在哥林多神的教會，就是在基督耶穌裡成聖、蒙召作聖徒的…

7 I Corinthians 1:2 林前1:2 The Greek word "sanctified" is a "perfect passive" 「成聖」的希臘文是「完成被動式」. Perfect tense Indicates something happened in the past & has an abiding effect in the present. 完成式表明某件事在過去發生,且對目前持續發生效果. Passive voice means the sanctifying was done to us. It was not something we do ourselves! 被動式表示成聖是做在我們身上,不是我們自己做成的.

8 This initial aspect of sanctification causes a radical cleavage with sin in our life 起初的成聖造成我們生命中的罪被根本地切開 Being Born Again causes us to “die to sin” (Rom. 6:1 - 7:6) 重生導致我們「向罪死了」(羅6:1-7:6). 9 Transforming Power of Repentance & Faith 悔改與信心的改變大能
Before God's Spirit entered our life we were “dead in sin” (Eph. 2:5) 上帝的靈進入我們生命之前, 我們「死在過犯中」(弗2:5). Now we are "dead to sin" (Rom. 6:2) 現在我們「在罪上死了」(羅6:2). If the death of Christ for sin, has not become our death to sin, we will die in our sin! (I Pet. 2:22-24) 倘若基督為罪而死,並沒有成為我們的向罪而死,那我們將死在自己的罪中! (彼前2:22-24)

20 The relationship of the Holy Spirit to our Human spirit 聖靈與人的靈的關係
God “breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul” (Gen. 2:7). 上帝「將生氣吹在他鼻孔裡，他就成了有靈的活人」(創2:7). God’s Spirit gives life 上帝的靈賜予生命. Hebrew = ruach

The Holy Spirit of God left their soul & human spirit and they were now dead “in trespasses and sins” (Eph. 2:1). 上帝的聖靈離開他們的魂和靈,他們現在死在「過犯罪惡中」(弗2:1). 26 DEATH ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE IS… 根據聖經,死亡是…
Death is not an annihilation of being. Biblically Death is a “S e p a r a t i o n.” 死亡不是人的滅絕; 聖經的死亡意義是分開. Physical death is the “s e p a r a t i o n” of the inner man from the outer man, the soul & spirit from the body 肉身的死亡是裡面的人與外面的人分開, 人的魂與靈跟身體分開.

27 DEATH ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE… 根據聖經,死亡是…
“the body without the spirit is dead” (James 2:26) 身體沒有靈(魂)是死的 (雅2:26). “as Rachel’s soul was in departing (for she died)” (Gen. 35:18). 創35:18 - 他(拉結) 將近於死，(靈)魂要走的時候…

29 What is Spiritual Death? 什麼是靈性的死亡?
Spiritual death results when the Holy Spirit of God s e p a r a t e s from the human spirit (Gen. 2:17; Acts 26:18; Eph. 2:1-2, 5; 4:18). 當上帝的聖靈與人的靈分開, 就導致靈性的死亡 (創2:17; 徒26:18; 弗2:1-2, 5; 4:18).

30 What is Spiritual Death? 什麼是靈性的死亡?
A person “without Christ” living in them is spiritually dead “without God & without hope” (Eph. 2:12) 一個「沒有基督內住」的人,就是靈性死亡的人, 「沒有神,沒有盼望」(弗2:12). We are a lost soul, with a dead human spirit, living in the prison of a slowly dying body. 我們是失喪的魂, 人的靈已死, 活在漸漸死去的身體的牢獄中.

The Holy Spirit “circumcises” our body of flesh from our soul 聖靈將我們的肉體情慾與魂切割開來 “In [Christ] ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, 西2:11 -你們在他(基督)裡面也受了不是人手所行的割禮， in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: (Col. 2:11) 西 2:11乃是基督使你們脫去肉體情慾的割禮。

34 This Baptism with the Holy Spirit accomplishes the circumcision of the Spirit “in” us.
聖靈的浸在我們「裡面」完成了靈的割禮.

The believer who has been baptized in the Holy Spirit has literally died! 在聖靈裡受浸的信徒確實是死了! Their soul has separated from their flesh! 他們的魂與他們的肉體分開! That is the Biblical revelation of death: “separation of the soul or spirit from the body” 這是聖經對死亡的啟示: 「魂或靈與身體分開」.

38 羅6:6 - 因為知道我們的舊人和他同釘十字架，使罪身滅絕，
“Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed [Greek = rendered idle], 羅6:6 - 因為知道我們的舊人和他同釘十字架，使罪身滅絕， that henceforth we should not serve sin” (Rom. 6:6). 叫我們不再作罪的奴僕；

39 加2:20 - 我已經與基督同釘十字架，現在活著的不再是我，乃是基督在我裡面活著
“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: 加2:20 - 我已經與基督同釘十字架，現在活著的不再是我，乃是基督在我裡面活著 and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me” (Gal. 2:20) 並且我如今在肉身活著，是因信神的兒子而活；他是愛我，為我捨己。

40 My soul is no longer a slave to my flesh. 我的(靈)魂不再是肉體情慾的奴隸
The power of sin [in my flesh] over my soul has literally been severed [put to death] by the circumcision of the Holy Spirit. 罪掌控我魂的權勢 (在肉體中) 確實被聖靈的割禮斷絕了 (處死了).

41 My soul is no longer a slave to my flesh. 我的(靈)魂不再是肉體情慾的奴隸
My soul has scripturally & literally died to my flesh. I am freed from bondage to the lusts of my flesh by the circumcision of Christ! FREE! FREE at Last!! 我的(靈)魂照聖經所說,確實向肉體的情慾死了. 我因基督的割禮,從情慾的綑綁中得釋放! 終於得自由了!

42 What is circumcision? 什麼是割禮?
Cutting off needless flesh 割掉不需要的肉體. In the O.T. God’s people knew it had a deep spiritual meaning (Deut. 10:16; 30:6). 在舊約中,上帝的百姓知道它有更深層的屬靈意義 (申10:16; 30:6). Circumcision of HEART! 心的割禮!

43 O. T. Circumcision was A Prophetic Type 舊約的割禮是一個預表
Of our spiritual circumcision that separates us from the old sinful nature that dwells in our flesh (Rom. 7:18). 預表我們屬靈的割禮, 即將我們與住在我們肉體中的罪性分開. We are freed from our slavery to sin

44 O. T. Circumcision was A Prophetic Type 舊約的割禮是一個預表

The Christian who has been Baptized with the Holy Spirit is no longer “in the flesh but in the Spirit” (Rom. 8:9). 被聖靈施浸的基督徒不再「在肉體中, 而是在靈中」(羅8:9). Notice the diagram doesn’t picture the physical body. We died to the flesh! 這個圖表沒有畫出身體,因我們已向肉體的情慾死了!

All this “spiritual reality” takes place “inside” my physical body: the house my soul & spirit lives in (2 Cor. 5:1-9). 所有這些「屬靈的實際」發生在我身體「裡面」: 我靈魂居住的所在.

Wrong question: “Have you been Baptized with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues?” 錯問: 「你受了聖靈的浸, 有說方言的證據嗎?」 Right question: “Have you been Circumcised with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of victory over sin?” 對問: 「你受了聖靈的割禮, 有得勝罪惡的證據嗎?」
