Axial skeleton： Lie around the axis (skull bones、ribs、breastbone) Appendicular skeleton : Upper and lower limbs (Upper:Pectoral girdle Lower:Pelvic girdle)

3 Types of bones: Long bone : Short bone : Flat bone: Irregular bone:
Slightly curved; Short bone : Cube-shaped、 equal in length and width Flat bone: Two parallel compact bones enclosing a layer of spongy bone Irregular bone: Sesamoid bone： Tendons(change the direction of pull of a tendon)

(Body;main portion of the bone) Medullary cavity: (Fatty yellow bone marrow in adults) Epiphysis: (Ends of a bone) Articular cartilage: Periosteum: (Bone-forming cells、protect 、 attachment point for ligaments and tendons)

Support : (Structural framework;Attachment points ) Protection: (Protect internal organs from injury) Assistance in movement: Mineral storage and release: (Calcium and Phosphorus) Blood cell production: (Red bone marrow produces red blood cells、white blood cells and platelets)
