5 三七未成熟 靈丹變死藥 相傳，古時候有個叫張小二的小夥子，他患了一種名叫 「出血症」的疾病，他的口、鼻流血，大便也出血，眼看
張小二的生命危在旦夕。一天一位姓田的江湖郎中從這裏 路過，張小二的母親得知後，急忙派人前去求醫，田郎中 很快隨人趕到張家，田郎中一邊為病人診治，一邊詢問病 因，最後他拿出一種草藥的根研末，給病人吞服，過了一 會兒，說也神了，病人的血就給止住了。張小二全家感激 不盡，一定要留田郎中在家住上幾天。田郎中見張小二的 病已快痊癒了，便告辭欲去，臨行前，送張家一些草藥種 子。後來他們將它種植在園中，並加以精心管理。

來想出一個妙計，為女兒治病貼出告示，誰能妙手回春， 治好女兒的病，年長者賞白銀千兩，年輕者招為東床。 這天張小二揭下告示，帶上草藥，便直奔知府衙門，知府 大人見了張小二，便叫管家請張小二為女兒治病，張小二 拿出藥來研末，給小姐服下。誰知不到一個時辰，這小姐 竟一命嗚呼。知府大人大怒，認為女兒是他毒死的，命令 差役將張小二捆綁起來，嚴刑拷打，逼他從實招來。張小 二忍受不住這皮肉之苦，終於講出了實情。

害殺人」之罪。田郎中不服，大聲辯道：「此草藥對各種 出血之症均有奇效，但必須是生長三至七年的方能有效， 張小二所用的藥，僅生長剛滿一年，時間太短了，沒有藥 性，當然是救活不了小姐的性命。」言畢，他請求知府大 人當眾驗證，知府大人同意，於是他從差役手中要過利刀 ，在自己的大腿上劃了一刀，頓時血如泉湧，接著他不慌 不忙地取出藥末，內服外敷，即刻便血止痂結，他這一用 藥在自己身上做實驗的表演，使在場的人無不目瞪口呆， 知府大人也驚歎不已，無話可說。

8 三七未成熟 靈丹變死藥 為讓後人記住這一件慘痛地用藥教訓，人們便把這 種草藥的根，定名為「三七」，表示該根作藥用
時，生長年限必須是三至七年的。後來因這郎中姓 田，故又稱「田三七」。
