2 ‘eschaton’ = “Outcome”
Eschatology ‘eschaton’ = “Outcome” Not about the end of time, but the world’s divine destiny. The things expected to occur at the end-time when at last the final purpose of God are fulfilled.

3 The whole of the Christian faith is about eschatology.

4 Jurgen Molgmann’s Theology of Hope:
“From first to last, and not merely in the epilogue, Christianity is eschatology, is hope, forward looking and forward moving, and therefore also revolutionizing and transforming the present. The eschatological is not one element of Christianity, but it is the medium of Christian faith as such, the key in which everything in it is set, the glow that suffuses everything here in the dawn of an expected new day.”

5 Biblical eschatology is about justice.
A concern for justice. Two promised outcomes of the Messiah’s coming: physical healing (even resurrection) and relief of economic privation.

6 The gospel is the Story of Jesus.
The apostles evangelized by telling the story of Jesus. Not just a Plan of Salvation. The gospel is the completion of Israel’s Story in the Story of Jesus. The OT prophets write about “the end of days,” they reorient Israel from God’s saving acts in their past to God’s saving acts in the future.
