1 羅馬書16

2 團契的標誌 15:1 我們堅固的人應該擔代不堅固人的軟弱，不求自己的喜悅。 15:2 我們各人務要叫鄰舍喜悅，使他得益處，建立德行。 15:3 因為基督也不求自己的喜悅，如經上所記：「辱罵你人的辱罵都落在我身上。」 15:4 從前所寫的聖經都是為教訓我們寫的，叫我們因聖經所生的忍耐和安慰可以得著盼望。 15:5 但願賜忍耐安慰的　神叫你們彼此同心，效法基督耶穌， 15:6 一心一口榮耀　神─我們主耶穌基督的父！

3 15:1 我們堅固的人應該擔代不堅固人的軟弱，不求自己的喜悅。
Now we who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of those without strength and not just please ourselves. 堅固的δυνατός (dunatos) strong, mighty, powerful 擔代βαστάζω (bastazo) to take up, carry 保羅在這裡所用『擔當』不堅固人的軟弱，與基督『擔當』十字架是同一的字。 不堅固的ἀδύνατος (adunatos) unable, powerless 求喜悅ἀρέσκω (aresko) to please 良心堅固的基督徒，不要太自我中心，不要踐踏軟弱者的良心，要擔代不堅固人的軟弱。 榮耀的主所揀選的，不求自己的益處，只是服務眾人。他為一切追求跟隨他的人立下了一個必須接受的榜樣。

4 15:2 我們各人務要叫鄰舍喜悅，使他得益處，建立德行。
2 Each of us is to please his neighbor for his good, to his edification. 鄰舍πλησίος (plesios) near, neighboring 益處ἀγαθός (agathos) good, benefit 建立德行οἰκοδομή (oikodome) building, edification 貶抑性的「討人喜悅」通常是「討神喜悅」的反義，意思是藉諂媚來博取別人的好感，透過沒有原則的妥協來賺取對方的贊同。這種做法是永不符合表裡一致和真誠的原則的。保羅可能就是為了避免這種誤解，所以才加上了使他得益處，建立德行，來規範討鄰舍喜悅的意思。。

5 15:3 因為基督也不求自己的喜悅，如經上所記：「辱罵你人的辱罵都落在我身上。」
3 For even Christ did not please Himself; but as it is written, “The reproaches of those who reproached You fell on Me.” 不求自己的喜悅是基督醫生的寫照，我們也當學習他的榜樣。 辱罵ὀνειδισμός (oneidismos) a reproach 保羅引用詩篇69:9(因我為你的殿心裡焦急，如同火燒，並且辱罵你人的辱罵都落在我身上。)，生動地描述了基督所遭受，不公而無理的苦楚；為義受逼迫。

6 15:4 從前所寫的聖經都是為教訓我們寫的，叫我們因聖經所生的忍耐和安慰可以得著盼望。
4 For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, so that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. 教訓διδασκαλία (didaskalia) instruction 忍耐πομονή (hupomone) endurance, perseverance 安慰αράκλησις (paraklesis) encouragement, comfort 使我們能夠滿有盼望地，超越時間展望永恆，超越眼前的苦楚展望將來的榮耀。基督徒是一個務實主義者，並不是一個悲觀主義者。 這種體恤的容忍乃是由於深知如果用愛的氣氛四面圍繞著他，比用連珠炮式的批評攻擊他，更易於感化他，接受更完美的信仰。
