起初， 神創造天地。 (創世記 Genesis 1:1) In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

神就賜福給他們，又對他們說：「要生養眾多，遍滿地面，治理這地，也要管理海裡的魚、空中的鳥，和地上各樣行動的活物。」 (創世記 Genesis 1:28) God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”

耶和華　神對蛇說：你既做了這事，就必受咒詛，比一切的牲畜野獸更甚；你必用肚子行走，終身吃土。 我又要叫你和女人彼此為仇；你的後裔和女人的後裔也彼此為仇。女人的後裔要傷你的頭；你要傷他的腳跟。 (創世記 Genesis 3:14-15) So the Lord God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this, “Cursed are you above all livestock and all wild animals! You will crawl on your belly and you will eat dust all the days of your life. And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.”

又對女人說：我必多多加增你懷胎的苦楚；你生產兒女必多受苦楚。 你必戀慕你丈夫；你丈夫必管轄你。 (創世記 Genesis 3:16) To the woman he said, “I will make your pains in childbearing very severe; with painful labor you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.”

我的肺腑是你所造的；我在母腹中，你已覆庇我。 我要稱謝你，因我受造，奇妙可畏；你的作為奇妙，這是我心深知道的。 我在暗中受造，在地的深處被聯絡；那時，我的形體並不向你隱藏。 我未成形的體質，你的眼早已看見了；你所定的日子，我尚未度一日，你都寫在你的冊上了。 (詩篇 Psalm 139:13-16) For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

你們作丈夫的也要按情理和妻子同住；因她比你軟弱，與你一同承受生命之恩的，所以要敬重她。這樣，便叫你們的禱告沒有阻礙。 (彼得前書 1 Peter 3:7) Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers.

又當存敬畏基督的心，彼此順服。 你們作妻子的，當順服自己的丈夫，如同順服主。 因為丈夫是妻子的頭，如同基督是教會的頭；他又是教會全體的救主。 (以弗所書 Ephesians 5:21-23) Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior.

誰藐視這日的事為小呢？ 這七眼乃是耶和華的眼睛，遍察全地，見所羅巴伯手拿線鉈就歡喜。 (撒迦利亞書 Zechariah 4:10) “Who dares despise the day of small things, since the seven eyes of the Lord that range throughout the earth will rejoice when they see the chosen capstone in the hand of Zerubbabel?”

孩子們在她腹中彼此相爭，她就說：「若是這樣，我為甚麼活著呢？」 她就去求問耶和華。 耶和華對她說：兩國在你腹內；兩族要從你身上出來。 這族必強於那族；將來大的要服事小的。 生產的日子到了，腹中果然是雙子。 先產的身體發紅，渾身有毛，如同皮衣，他們就給他起名叫以掃（就是有毛的意思）。 隨後又生了以掃的兄弟，手抓住以掃的腳跟，因此給他起名叫雅各（就是抓住的意思）。利百加生下兩個兒子的時候，以撒年正六十歲。 (創世記 Genesis 25:22-26)

他們在示羅吃喝完了，哈拿就站起來。祭司以利在耶和華殿的門框旁邊，坐在自己的位上。 哈拿心裡愁苦，就痛痛哭泣，祈禱耶和華，許願說：「萬軍之耶和華啊，你若垂顧婢女的苦情，眷念不忘婢女，賜我一個兒子，我必使他終身歸與耶和華，不用剃頭刀剃他的頭。」哈拿在耶和華面前不住地祈禱，以利定睛看她的嘴。（原來哈拿心中默禱，只動嘴唇，不出聲音，因此以利以為她喝醉了。） 以利對她說：「你要醉到幾時呢？你不應該喝酒。」 哈拿回答說：「主啊，不是這樣。我是心裡愁苦的婦人，清酒濃酒都沒有喝，但在耶和華面前傾心吐意。 不要將婢女看作不正經的女子。我因被人激動，愁苦太多，所以祈求到如今。」 以利說：「你可以平平安安地回去。願以色列的　神允准你向他所求的！」 哈拿說：「願婢女在你眼前蒙恩。」於是婦人走去吃飯，面上再不帶愁容了。 (撒母耳記上 1 Samuel 1:9-18)

想到你心裡無偽之信，這信是先在你外祖母羅以和你母親友妮基心裡的，我深信也在你的心裡。 (提摩太後書 2 Timothy 1:5) I am reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also.

不要效法這個世界，只要心意更新而變化，叫你們察驗何為 神的善良、純全、可喜悅的旨意。 (羅馬書 Romans 12:2) Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

你們中間若有缺少智慧的，應當求那厚賜與眾人、也不斥責人的　神，主就必賜給他。 只要憑著信心求，一點不疑惑；因為那疑惑的人，就像海中的波浪，被風吹動翻騰。 這樣的人不要想從主那裡得甚麼。 心懷二意的人，在他一切所行的路上都沒有定見。 (雅各書 James 1:5-8) If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.

耶和華是我的亮光，是我的拯救，我還怕誰呢？ 耶和華是我性命的保障，我還懼誰呢？(詩篇 Psalm 27:1) The Lord is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?

凡勞苦擔重擔的人可以到我這裡來，我就使你們得安息。 (馬太福音 Matthew 11:28) Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

看哪，我站在門外叩門，若有聽見我聲音就開門的，我要進到他那裡去，我與他，他與我一同坐席。 (啟示錄 Revelation 3:20) Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.
