Genesis 創世記 32:22-23 22雅各那夜起來，帶著他的兩個妻子、兩個婢女和十一個孩子，都過了雅博渡口。23他帶著他們，先打發他們過河，然後又打發他所有的都過去。 22 That night Jacob got up and took his two wives, his two female servants and his eleven sons and crossed the ford of the Jabbok. 23 After he had sent them across the stream, he sent over all his possessions.

Genesis 創世記 32:27-30 27那人問他:「你叫甚麼名字？」他回答:雅各。28那人說:「你的名字不要再叫雅各，要叫以色列，因為你與　神與人較力，都得了勝。」29雅各問他，說:「請把你的名告訴我。」那人回答:「為甚麼問我的名呢？」他就在那裡給雅各祝福。30於是，雅各給那地方起名叫毘努伊勒，意思說:「我面對面看見了　神，我的性命仍得保全。」 27 The man asked him, “What is your name?” “Jacob,” he answered. 28 Then the man said, “Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel, because you have struggled with God and with humans and have overcome.” 29 Jacob said, “Please tell me your name.” But he replied, “Why do you ask my name?” Then he blessed him there. 30 So Jacob called the place Peniel, saying, “It is because I saw God face to face, and yet my life was spared.”
