Motivation (1/2) Background of Taiwan: Learning than acquiring (Acquiring is the goal we need to achieve.) Recently, inefficient learning attitude has been pervaded in school campuses. This situation is attributed to the improper way of English learning.

Motivation (2/2) The gap of learning English for students is lacking of confidence because of culture issue and different language systems.

Purpose The purpose of this project is to arouse students’ learning motivation and stimulate their inner abilities by interesting and integrative activities.

Teaching Objectives Be able to use classroom language properly. Be able to recognize month and ordinal numbers, and use them in daily conversation. Be able to state a sentence of today’s date. Activities: True or False. Take a Guess! Bingo.

Teaching Instruments

教學目的 由於大多數的學生對於學習英文興趣缺缺,加 上英語非本土母語,故在學習上已經有先入為 主的負面觀念,本課的程設計是為了那些有潛 力,但是不知道如何跨過心裡那道學習障礙的 孩子而設計,希望藉由此種教學法能夠幫助學 生重新建構知識(reconstruction)。

教學目標 能熟練使用課室英語。 遊戲1---利用撲克牌上的數字結合月份,使學生能正確念出和辨認出月份單字。 遊戲2---能念出序數的發音,並能運用在日期的說法。 4. 遊戲3---能將所學的球類單字結合日期 應用在句型中。 Ex. When do you play baseball? I play baseball on June 5th.

教學實施步驟 1.訂定單元主題 2.設立遊戲規則 3.課前製作與準備各種教學器具 4.練習課室英語,讓學生都能聽說無虞 6.合作學習,以強帶弱,分組練習。 7.以比賽方式進行,上台練習。 8.老師給予正向鼓勵。 上台

文法重點二: 複習月份單字 能夠說出序數 1st~31st 能夠應用到日期句型: 1.What’s the date today? 2. When is your birthday? It’s 月+日. It’s on 月+日.

文法重點三: 複習第一課球類單字,並且能夠流暢地唸出單字。 能夠將第一課單字結合日期,並應用至句型中。 先備字彙: baseball, basketball, tennis, dodge ball, badminton Ex. When do you play baseball? I play baseball on June 1st.

遊戲說明1-1 PART 1 True or False First, I will distribute each student an equally divided part of poker. Then, I will assign a student to start the game with clockwise direction. The faster the student hits the card with the correct pronunciation, the winner he / she will be. 心臟病: 學生每人拿到等份的撲克牌,順時鐘方向輪流從January開始,按照順序喊到December後再重新輪流,若出牌者喊到的月份剛好是手上出的牌,大家就要立即拍該張牌子,牌最先沒有的人就是贏家。 (Ex. A= January, 2= February…… J = November) 藉此可訓練學生的專注力,並同時訓練增強英聽能力和加速處理資訊的反應。

PART 1 -1 Who is faster? In order to reinforce the practice of DATE, the teacher will say a month in advance. Then, he / she will draw a lot by sticks with number on it (number = month). The students will need to answer with the “circle” or the “cross” as soon as possible. The faster one who can answer true or false, the winner he / she will be.

遊戲說明1-2 PART 2 Take a Guess Student A will be asked to write down a date he / she wanted. Student B will take a guess in accordance with the clue the student A offers. 遊戲說明1-3 PART 3 Bingo Game First, I will review the vocabularies from January to December as well as ordinal numbers with both the cass and individuals. Then, I will help students review the vocabularies with “sports”. Next, the class will be asked to practice the patterns: 1. What’s the date today? 2. When do you play baseball? Last, each of them will be asked to pick up a date and circle. The one who can make five lines first, he / she will be the winner.

Validity 老師: 你們覺得上完這三堂的英文課,對於上課的教學內容有甚麼感 想? 甚麼活動最令你印象深刻呢? 學生1: 我覺得很好玩很有趣,因為老師用好笑的諧音代替月份,所以 我很快就記起來。 學生2: 我喜歡撲克牌遊戲,因為好刺激,老師要我們唸出月份的英文, 如果不會念的話很快就陣亡,所以,我很認真記發音。 學生3: 我最喜歡老師問我們問題,然後給動物的獎卡,如果三張是一 樣的動物就可以賓果連線,我就可以得一個獎章,刺激又好玩, 賓果遊戲也很好玩,我和同學一組,不會的話有同學可以幫忙。

結論(1/3) 針對提出的三個教學法見解如下: TPR在許多老師的教學裡常被侷限在給予零碎的指令, 讓學生完成簡單的動作,但當學生已經累積更多的單 字及片語時,老師應該要靈活地串連所學,變成更多 有意義的連續動作。 TPR絕不單純是由老師發號指令,學生完成動作,第 二階段應由學生嘗試練習說的指令,到了第二階段學 生能夠相互獨立的完成指令與動作,如此才達成最終 的教學目標。

結論(2/3)  1.師生角色的調整: 一開始是由老師講解,但至後半段學習則是以學生 為主體,學生本身將成為課堂學習的重心,教師規 劃及引導學生學習的角色會更凸顯。「教師提問、 學生討論」、「學生互助共學」、由學生主動和積 極參與為核心的學習型態。 2.學生學習動機與態度的改善: 從學生的問卷及老師的課堂觀察都發現,採用分組 合作學習後,學生上課趴下打瞌睡及兩眼無神、無 所事事的現象都大幅減少。同時,由於同儕的相互 激勵與彼此約束,學生對學習的責任感也更為提升。

結論(3/3) 3.班級氣氛的改變: 經過分組合作學習的洗禮後,原本死氣沉沉的班級會 展現更多活潑的生機;許多原本會分心搗蛋的學生有 了表現的管道及參與感,反而成了帶動學習氣氛的推 手。 4.學生學習成效的精進: 整體而言,在有系統的實施分組合作學習一段時間後, 都可以看到學生學習成效的進步(不一定是只比成績, 口說和學習表現更是顯著)。學生學習品質的提升常 更為顯著,包括:上課發言的人次和普遍性都會提高, 按時交作業的人數比例增加,作業的正確率、工整度 和或完整性都提升等。

教學感想 教了多年的英文,我本執的只有一個教育理念—「同理 心」,即凡事從學生的角度下去設計教學內容,如果我 是學生,我會希望在何種學習的氛圍下吸收知識? 「適性教學」和激發學生「潛在的能力」一直是我的教 學理念和目標,此外,「歸過於私下,揚善於公堂」更 是我堅持感化的教育理念,尤其針對特教班這群特別的 孩子,需要用更多的耐心和愛心下去對待,就如同「滾 雪球」的方式將正面能量越滾越大,課堂中只要學生有 表現優良的地方,便立即無限正面放大,唯有當自信心 提升,優質的學習成效才會彰顯。
