Then we'll see what comes of his dreams."  21 When Reuben heard this, he tried to rescue him from their hands. "Let's not take his life," he said. 22 "Don't shed any blood. Throw him into this cistern here in the desert, but don't lay a hand on him.“…

Gen 37 26猶大對他的眾兄弟說：“我們殺了我們的兄弟，把他的血隱藏起來，究竟有甚麼益處呢？ 27我們不如把他賣給以實瑪利人，不要下手害他，因為他是我們的兄弟，我們的骨肉。”眾兄弟就聽從了他。 28有些米甸的商人經過那裡，約瑟的哥哥們就把約瑟從枯井裡拉上來，以二十塊銀子把他賣給以實瑪利人。以實瑪利人就把約瑟帶到埃及去了。 26 Judah said to his brothers, "What will we gain if we kill our brother and cover up his blood? 27 Come, let's sell him to the Ishmaelites and not lay our hands on him; after all, he is our brother, our own flesh and blood." His brothers agreed.  28 So when the Midianite merchants came by, his brothers pulled Joseph up out of the cistern and sold him for twenty shekels of silver to the Ishmaelites, who took him to Egypt.

Genesis 創世記 40:4-7 4 護衛長把他們交給約瑟，約瑟便伺候他們；他們有些日子在監裡。 5被囚在監之埃及王的酒政和膳長二人同夜各做一夢，各夢都有講解。6到了早晨，約瑟進到他們那裡，見他們有愁悶的樣子。 7他便問法老的二臣，就是與他同囚在他主人府裡的，說:「你們今日為甚麼面帶愁容呢？」 4 The captain of the bodyguard put Joseph in charge of them, and he took care of them; and they were in confinement for some time. 5 Then the cupbearer and the baker for the king of Egypt, who were confined in jail, both had a dream the same night, each man with his own dream and each dream with its own interpretation. 6 When Joseph came to them in the morning and observed them, behold, they were dejected. 7 He asked Pharaoh’s officials who were with him in confinement in his master’s house, “Why are your faces so sad today?”

Genesis 創世記 39:21-23 21但耶和華與約瑟同在，向他施恩，使他在司獄的眼前蒙恩。 22司獄就把監裡所有的囚犯都交在約瑟的手下；他們在那裡所辦的事都是經他的手。 23凡在約瑟手下的事，司獄一概不察，因為耶和華與約瑟同在；耶和華使他所做的盡都順利。 21 But the LORD was with Joseph and extended kindness to him, and gave him favor in the sight of the chief jailer. 22 The chief jailer committed to Joseph’s charge all the prisoners who were in the jail; so that whatever was done there, he was responsible for it. 23 The chief jailer did not supervise anything under Joseph’s charge because the LORD was with him; and whatever he did, the LORD made to prosper.

Genesis 創世記 40:8-11 8他們對他說:「我們各人做了一夢，沒有人能解 8 Then they said to him, “We have had a dream and there is no one to interpret it.” Then Joseph said to them, “Do not interpretations belong to God? Tell it to me, please.” 9 So the chief cupbearer told his dream to Joseph, and said to him, “In my dream, behold, there was a vine in front of me; 10 and on the vine were three branches. And as it was budding, its blossoms came out, and its clusters produced ripe grapes. 11 Now Pharaoh’s cup was in my hand; so I took the grapes and squeezed them into Pharaoh’s cup, and I put the cup into Pharaoh’s hand.”

But Aaron’s staff swallowed up their staffs.

The king spoke and said to the wise men of Babylon, “Any man who can read this inscription and explain its interpretation to me … 8 Then all the king’s wise men came in, but they could not read the inscription or make known its interpretation to the king… (The queen said,) “11 There is a man in your kingdom in whom is a spirit of the holy gods; and in the days of your father, illumination, insight and wisdom like the wisdom of the gods were found in him. And King Nebuchadnezzar, your father, your father the king, appointed him chief of the magicians, conjurers, Chaldeans and diviners.  

Genesis 創世記 40:12-15 12約瑟對他說：「你所做的夢是這樣解：三根枝子就是三天； 13三天之內，法老必提你出監，叫你官復原職，你仍要遞杯在法老的手中，和先前作他的酒政一樣。 14但你得好處的時候，求你記念我，施恩與我，在法老面前提說我，救我出這監牢。 15我實在是從希伯來人之地被拐來的；我在這裡也沒有做過甚麼，叫他們把我下在監裡。」 12 Then Joseph said to him, “This is the interpretation of it: the three branches are three days; 13 within three more days Pharaoh will lift up your head and restore you to your office; and you will put Pharaoh’s cup into his hand according to your former custom when you were his cupbearer. 14 Only keep me in mind when it goes well with you, and please do me a kindness by mentioning me to Pharaoh and get me out of this house. 15 For I was in fact kidnapped from the land of the Hebrews, and even here I have done nothing that they should have put me into the dungeon.”  

Genesis 創世記 40:16-19 16 膳長見夢解得好，就對約瑟說：「我在夢中見我頭上頂著三筐白餅； 17 極上的筐子裡有為法老烤的各樣食物，有飛鳥來吃我頭上筐子裡的食物。」 18 約瑟說：「你的夢是這樣解：三個筐子就是三天； 19 三天之內，法老必斬斷你的頭，把你掛在木頭上，必有飛鳥來吃你身上的肉。」 16 When the chief baker saw that he had interpreted favorably, he said to Joseph, “I also saw in my dream, and behold, there were three baskets of white bread on my head; 17 and in the top basket there were some of all sorts of baked food for Pharaoh, and the birds were eating them out of the basket on my head.” 18 Then Joseph answered and said, “This is its interpretation: the three baskets are three days; 19 within three more days Pharaoh will lift up your head from you and will hang you on a tree, and the birds will eat your flesh off you.”  

Genesis 創世記 40:20-23 20 到了第三天，是法老的生日，他為眾臣僕設擺筵席，把酒政和膳長提出監來， 21 使酒政官復原職，他仍舊遞杯在法老手中； 22 但把膳長掛起來，正如約瑟向他們所解的話。 23 酒政卻不記念約瑟，竟忘了他。 20 Thus it came about on the third day, which was Pharaoh’s birthday, that he made a feast for all his servants; and he lifted up the head of the chief cupbearer and the head of the chief baker among his servants. 21 He restored the chief cupbearer to his office, and he put the cup into Pharaoh’s hand; 22 but he hanged the chief baker, just as Joseph had interpreted to them. 23 Yet the chief cupbearer did not remember Joseph, but forgot him..

And Pharaoh told them his dreams, but there was no one who could interpret them to Pharaoh. 9 Then the chief cupbearer spoke to Pharaoh, saying, “I would make mention today of my own offenses.” ...

Genesis 創世記 41:39-41 39法老對約瑟說:「 神既然把這事指示了你，就再沒有人像你這樣有見識有智慧了。40你可以掌管我的家，我的人民都要聽從你的話; 只有在王位上我比你大。」41法老又對約瑟說:「你看，我任命你治理埃及全地。」 39 Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Since God has made all this known to you, there is no one so discerning and wise as you. 40 You shall be in charge of my palace, and all my people are to submit to your orders. Only with respect to the throne will I be greater than you.” 41 So Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I hereby put you in charge of the whole land of Egypt.”

創世記 Gen 45:1-4 1約瑟在所有侍立在他左右的人面前,不能自制,就喊叫說:「叫各人都離開我出去」這樣,約瑟向他的兄弟們表白自己身分的時候, 沒有別人在場. 2於是他放聲大哭,埃及人聽到了;法老一家也聽聞這事. 3約瑟對他的兄弟們說:「我就是約瑟,我的父親還在嗎？」他的兄弟們不能回答他, 因為他們在約瑟面前都非常驚惶. 4約瑟對他的兄弟們說:「請你們上前來」他們就上前去. 他說:「我就是被你們賣到埃及的弟弟約瑟」1Then Joseph could no longer control himself before all his attendants, and he cried out, "Have everyone leave my presence!" So there was no one with Joseph when he made himself known to his brothers. 2 And he wept so loudly that the Egyptians heard him, and Pharaoh's household heard about it.  3 Joseph said to his brothers, "I am Joseph! Is my father still living?" But his brothers were not able to answer him, because they were terrified at his presence.  4 Then Joseph said to his brothers, "Come close to me." When they had done so, he said, "I am your brother Joseph, the one you sold into Egypt!
