林前 I Cor 13：4-8 爱是恒久忍耐，又有恩慈。爱是不嫉妒。爱是不自夸。不张狂。Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

不作害羞的事。不求自己的益处。不轻易发怒。不计算人的恶。It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

不喜欢不义。只喜欢真理。Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth 不喜欢不义。只喜欢真理。Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 凡事包容。凡事相信。凡事盼望。凡事忍耐。It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 爱是永不止息。Love never fails.

林前 I Cor 13：4-8 圣经中有名的经文。Famous Bible verses. 连不信主的外邦人，也说是：不朽之作。 Even gentiles would say: indestructible writing.

忍耐与恩慈 Patient and Kind 全篇从忍耐开始，丝毫没有罗曼蒂克。 Starting with patience, not romantic. 婚姻中一定有摩擦，当然要忍耐。 Frictions exist in marriage; we need patience.

忍耐生老练。老练生盼望。Perseverance produces character; and character produces hope. 罗 Romans 5:4 有盼望才能恒久忍耐。 Hope brings lasting perseverance.

但愿赐忍耐安慰的神，叫你们彼此同心，效法基督耶稣。 May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus. 罗 Romans 15:5 基督自己忍耐，给我们做榜样。 Jesus set an example of endurance.

消极与积极 Passive and Active 忍耐是消极的。是不够的。 Endurance is passive, not enough. 恩慈是积极的，是主动的。 Kindness is active.

除了忍耐对方的不好，还要主动的对对方示好。 Not just endure the wrongs of other, but actively show your kindness. 真是不容易。Not easy. 但在神没有难成的事。But in God, nothing is impossible. 见证 Testimony.

八个“不”8 “Don’ts” 嫉妒，自夸，张狂，作害羞的事，求自己的益处，轻易发怒，计算人的恶，喜欢不义。 Envy, boast, pride, rudeness, self-seeking, easy anger, remembering other’s wrongs and delighting in evil.

都是我们的“老我”，或“天然我”。 They are our “old selves”, or “natural selves”. 在与人的关系中，具有毁灭性的伤害。 Destroy our relationship to others.

四个“凡事”4 “Always” 包容，相信，盼望，忍耐。 Protection, trust, hope and perseverance. 都是新生命的表现。 Signs of a new life. 这段经文是在讲生命的改变。 These verses are talking about life changing experience.

凡事忍耐 Always Persevere 从忍耐开始，以忍耐结束。 Starting from patience, ending with perseverance. 忍字头上一把刀，真不容易。 “A knife in the heart”, not easy.

榜样 Example 「约翰的儿子西门，你爱我比这些更深吗？」，彼得说：「主啊，是的，你知道我爱你。」耶稣对他说：「你喂养我的小羊。」 “Simon son of John, do you truly love me more than these?” “Yes, Lord,” he said, “you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my lambs.” 约 John 21：15

爱 Love：agape 与vs phileo。 Jesus said “agape”. 彼得回答的是 “phileo”。 Peter answered “phileo”.

彼得 Peter 彼得说：「众人虽然跌倒，我总不能。」 Peter declared, “Even if all fall away, I will not.” 可 Mark 14:29 自夸。Boasting. 三次不认主。Denied Lord three times. 只看见自己的益处。Self-seeking.

彼得看见他，就问耶稣说：「主啊，这人将来如何？」 When Peter saw him, he asked, “Lord, what about him?” 约 John 21:21 彼得不止是好奇，也是嫉妒。 Peter was not just curious, he envied.

耶稣 Jesus 你喂养我的小羊。 Feed my lambs. 耶稣包容彼得。Jesus tolerated Peter. 包容就是鼓励。Tolerance is encouragement. 耶稣也信任彼得。Jesus trusted Peter. 耶稣也多次忍耐彼得。Jesus endured Peter many times.

彼得的改变 Change of Peter 天使拍彼得的肋旁，拍醒了他，说：「快快起来！」 He struck Peter on the side and woke him up. “Quick, get up!” he said. 徒 Acts 12:7 彼得在大难中熟睡 Peter slept deeply 在爱里没有惧怕 No fear in true love

爱是永不止息 Love Never Fails 八个“不”与四个“凡事”的爱，是持续的。 Love of 8 “don’ts” and 4 “always” continues. 是永不止息的。Never fails.

如今常存的，有信，有望，有爱。这三样，其中最大的是爱。 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. 林前 I Cor 13:13
