教学目的和教学要求 语言与文化相互作用、影响。英语语言文化知识的学习能够促进学生提高英语语言应用能力,即能够应用英语进行交际的能力。掌握相关的英语语言文化知识有利于学生更有效地理解、应用英语语言知识。本课程旨在通过指导学生学习相关的文化背景知识,进一步提高学生的英语水平和跨文化交际的能力。适应全球化日益深入、跨文化交际日益增强的需要和复合型人才培养的需要。本课程以英美语言文化背景知识为基础,结合相关的史料,借助于相关的影像资料,使得学生能够在语境中学习语言背景知识。同时,本课程注重学生语言能力的培养,针对相关的文化现象组织学生进行课堂讨论,要求学生按时保质保量完成课后作业。成绩评定将以课堂参与及作业为主。本课程知识的传授主要通过教师讲解和学生讨论,鼓励学生积极参与。

三、摘 要: 从教学内容和教学方法与手段改革入手,就教学计划、课程建设展开讨论,探讨了英语专业建设问题;提出制定科学的专业教学总体计划是专业建设的基础,课程建设是加强专业建设的根本保证,教材建设是专业建设的必要保障,教学方法与教学手段的改革是加强专业建设、提高教学效果和人才培养质量的必由之路。

四、课程介绍 《英美文化》是近年为响应教育部关于素质教育的号召,适应改革开放的需要而开设的课程。几年来,受到学生的热烈欢迎。 本课程利用较为新颖的教学科研成果,倡导语言学习应打破“为语言而语言”的学习模式,提倡通过对英语国家文化的学习,了解这些国家的历史、 政治制度、 经济贸易 、 教育、 宗教 、种族问题 、 媒体及社会问题等, 促进学生语言水平及交际能力的提高,拓展学生的知识面,优化他们的知识结构。 本课程具有较强的实用性和针对性。本课程是在前期对课程的调研和对学生的调查问卷的基础上,确定教材、 教学内容、 教学方式等教学环节。教学专题具有较强的时代特征和时效性,也是学生比较感兴趣的教训内容。 本课程的重点在于拓展学生的视野,培养他们对周围事物的洞察力、 独立思考的能力及分析和解决问题的能力。

五、《英美文化》教学内容 1.教学对象: 《英美文化》课程 既适合英语专业的学生,又适合非英语专业已通过大学英语四 、六级考试的学生。
2.教学内容: 涉及英美两国历史、 政治制度、 经济贸易 、 教育、 宗教 、种族问题 、 娱乐风土人情、 艺术、 媒体及社会问题等各个方面。教学中注意介绍西方文化及中西文化的对比。 3.教学方法及手段: 本课程针对学生交际能力不足的特点,尽量改变以教师为中心的传统教学模式,而是 建立以学生为中心的教学模式,充分调动学生的主动性和积极性,老师作为引导者、 组织者和观察者来进行教学活动。
