3 一、标题 TITLE 标题 标题应该简短、明确、有概括性。 标题字数要适当,严格控制在25字以内。 例如:

一级标题(指中英文摘要标题、各章标题、致谢、参考文献及附录标题)字号为三号加粗; 二级标题四号加粗; 三级标题小四号加粗; 二级和二级以下的标题,长度一般不超过一行。 正文小四号。 /13

一、标题 TITLE Chapter Two THE STATE OF TRANSLATION (一级 3B) 2.1. Introduction(二级 4B,段前段后1.5行) The goal of this chapter is to study how translation and L2 learning complement each other to foster a communicative, cognitive and cultural competence. First, I will propose three roles of translation and I will present different models of applications into the L2 classroom. Then, I will review the objections against the use of translation, its acclaimed benefits, and, finally, I will review those research studies that assessed the potential usefulness of translation. 2.2. The Roles of Translation(二级 4B) Before moving forward, what do we understand to be the notion of “translation”? According to Bassnett (2002), translation “involves the rendering of a source language (SL) text into the target language (TL) as to ensure that (1) the surface meaning of the two will be approximately similar, and (2) the structures of the SL will be preserved as closely as possible but not so closely that the TL structures will be seriously distorted” (p. 11). Nevertheless, it is also important to notice that translation also involves other useful exercises to expand the skills of paraphrasing, simplification and/or summarizing not only in the L2, but also in L1. Translation as a Communicative Activity(三级 小4B) If we assume that the goal of both learning a L2 and translating into another language is to transmit appropriate meaning linguistically, semantically, and pragmatically, then learning a L2 should be linked to translation exercises. According to Schäffner (1995), “translation and interpreting are essentially communicative processes that produce texts” (p. 1). (正文 Times New Roman 小4) /13

9 二、摘要 ABSTRACT 摘要是论文内容的简要陈述,是一篇完整的、可以独立使用的短文,因而必须具有自含性,即:读者即使不阅读论文的全文也可以从摘要中获得必要的、与论文等量的信息,以便确定有无必要阅读全文。 摘要一般应包括 (1)研究的对象和目的; (2)研究的方法或者过程; (3)研究的发现或者成果; (4)结论。 摘要不应报告论文结构 中文摘要在400字左右,外文摘要与中文内容相同 关键词一般以3~5个为妥,词与词之间以“;”为分隔 /13

二、摘要 ABSTRACT ABSTRACT Evaluating Translation as an Explicit Instruction Tool to Improve L2 Written Skills: an Empirical Study Beatriz Pariente-beltrán … I conducted an experiment with 104 college-students enrolled in a Spanish Advanced Grammar course. The independent variables were type of instruction (explicit vs. implicit) and translation (translation vs. without translation). Four sections of this course were randomly assigned to a group condition: IIG-T (implicit instruction group with translation), IIG-WT (implicit instruction group without translation), EIG-T (explicit instruction group with translation), EIG-WT (explicit instruction group without translation). Students completed a pretest to assess their proficiency level in writing cover letters. Each condition was given a different step-by-step activity on how to write cover letters. Finally, they wrote a cover letter in Spanish serving as the posttest and composition of the course and they completed a qualitative questionnaire. Data was evaluated via three domains: vocabulary, grammar and discourse, where L2 performance was operationalized as the total number of errors using the same evaluation for both the pretest and posttest. A two-way ANOVA estimated the effect by comparing the aggregated change score (difference between pretest and posttest totals) across the translation and instruction conditions, and also comparing each domain individually. Results indicated that explicit instruction had a significant effect on aggregated change scores and also on discourse change scores. The use or lack of translation and implicit instruction did not have a significant effect on vocabulary and grammar. Therefore, we can still infer that translation was not detrimental for students’ L2 acquisition. It will be crucial to implement other empirical studies that involve not only a longitudinal approach but also longer exposure to translation tasks. 方法、结果、结论
