(James Henri, 2000)”學校圖書館主任既是老師也是學校圖書館館長，其英文職銜最能反映其工作性質 Basic Requirement 入職資歷 At least 2 years post qualification teaching experience, familiarized with the curriculum and schooling 持有合格教師證書及兩年以上教學經驗 Competitive Qualification 較優資歷 Diploma in Teacher Librarianship (funded by EDB) 學校圖書館主任文憑(全數學費由教育局支付) Bachelor of Science in Information Management 資訊管理學士 Master of Science in Library and Information Management 圖書館及資訊管理碩士 Implicit qualification 潛藏資歷 Committed to serve teachers and students preferable 願意服務老師及學生者較適合

3 Roles 管理學校圖書館資源 掌握圖書技巧(包括資訊科技)的專業 知識 預先準備館藏中設合課題、設合學生 閱讀程度及活動所需的書目或資料
爲各級訂定資訊技巧學習目標(見附 件及通識課程指引)，於協作教學 中爲老師及學生提供訓練，使資訊 技巧的學習不致脫離學科 透過與科任老師協作教學，瞭解課程 的需要，主動向老師及學生提供多 元化的、支持學與教的館藏資料， 促成資源爲本學習 照顧學習差異 個別指導學生，幫助學生解決學習上 的難題 評估學生的學習表現 評估學習資訊、資源及學習活動的效 能，為館藏發展提供方向。爲教授 同一課題的其他老師提供參考經驗 和資源，使共同備課更有效率 Manage the resources in the school library Responsible for the expertise of library skills which include IT skills Prepare before hand from the collection the information or bibliographies of books relevant to the topic and reading level of classroom learning Set the learning targets of information skills for all levels to be taught to teachers and students during CPT lessons so that these skill are not isolated from the curriculum Through CPT with the subject teachers, understand the curriculum need, provide the information of the various resources that support teaching and learning to facilitate Resource Based Learning Cater for individual differences Help individual students to solve learning difficulties Assess the students’ learning performances Assess the effectiveness of the learning information, resources and activities for the collection development, provides consultation experiences and resources for teachers teaching the same topic to facilitate co-planning among teachers

4 學校圖書館主任在新高中課程所擔演的角色 例: 支援通識教育科的學與教 事先掌握對該科課程的理解 檢視現有資源 擴大書籍和雜誌館藏 訂閱網上資源及搜尋相關網站，並按分類編訂有關資料，方便學生、教師檢索使用 和通識教育科教師加強協作，透過圖書館課或通識教育課，培訓學生資訊技巧，提升學生「資訊素養」，即「懂得發現、評量和有效地運用資訊，以解決問題或作適當決定」。

5 Rank職級 Starts at Certificate Master/Mistress (CM) grade
CM 起薪點 – 點 $21,175 to $34,220 monthly AM 起薪點 – 點 $35,785 to $43,010 monthly GM 起薪點 – 點 $22,240 to $51,670 monthly (2011年4月1日生效 -- 官立、資助學校教師薪級表) Follow the usual promotion ladder as teachers. Service as a school librarian is equivalent to teaching experience for promotion purposes. 圖書館主任的晉升年資與教師看齊 If promoted, takes extra jobs such as Discipline Master, Director of Students Affairs, Deputy Head, to be equivalent to the workload of the promoted rank. 晉升條件為能兼任校內更多職務，如訓導主任、學務主任、副校長等

6 Post background 職位背景 Appoint an additional non-graduate teacher to work full time as a secondary school librarian since 1979. 1979 開設非學位教師職級的全職中學圖書館主任 Appoint an additional CM grade teacher to work full time as a primary school librarian since 1998. 1998 開設CM教師職級的全職小學圖書館主任 Appoint an additional CM grade teacher to work as a special school librarian since 2003 開設CM教師職級的特殊學校圖書館主任

7 Other benefits if employed as teaching staff
Long holiday e.g. Summer vacation, Christmas, Chinese New Year & Easter holiday Fruitful provident fund e.g. CM for service of thirty years will gain around 3.8 million in 2009 retirement (For Aided Schools) Sick leave 48 days in a year and can be accumulated to not more than 168 days
