7 数据清理: 高质量的数据分析结果首先取决于数据的准确性与完整性,由于标引的不一致、输入的错误、文献著者或发明人的不同写法、科研机构或专利授权人的不同表达方式等造成了原始数据的不一致性,如果对数据不加以整理或合并,在统计分析时就会产生一定程度的误差,进而会影响到整个分析结果的准确性。TDA软件内部设有多个叙词表,为您提供快速的自动数据清理的功能,只需点击一个按钮,数据整理工作即可自动完成。用户还可建立自己的叙词表,对著者/发明人、科研机构/专利申请人/专利授权人、国际专利分类号、等字段加以清理。

Each audience has its unique set of needs that Thomson Innovation addresses. For example, R&D professionals are focused on researching or assessing the technical and competitive landscape to determine whether or not development in a certain area is appropriate. Should such-and-such tire manufacturer branch into a new field that uses rubber similar to what is used in tires for the manufacture of rubber-grips for fishing poles? The R&D team at this company needs to know who else produces the rubber grips for the fishing poles, how are those inventions protected, what is the demand for fishing poles with rubber grips and so on. They will spend a lot of time researching this area to answer these and other questions. [Click on the box with R&D to advance to that slide.] Similarly, attorneys and paralegals (whether in-house or at an outside firm), will need to keep an eye on this industry and do the due diligence required to advise the R&D team as to whether or not future development is prudent. [Click on this box to advance to that slide.] Licensing executives will also come into the picture to help determine if there is a way to license technology that already exists in this area, versus spending thousands, if not millions, of dollars on R&D. Licensing executives also look at the company’s IP portfolio to identify IP rights that are underutilized, perhaps in an area where the company no longer does a lot of business, to see if they can find partners to whom they can license these rights. [Click on this box to advance.] Competitive and technical intelligence analysts do a very in-depth, thorough review of the competition and technology, to support the R&D efforts. They watch and track the space very intensely, looking for new entrants, potential threats, possible partners, etc. Each of these areas does work that is related, but they have their own unique focus related to the project – and they must work in tandem for the process to be efficient and smooth. [Click on this box to advance.] Intellectual property specialists focus on the IP space. What is patented in the area of rubber fishing pole grips? Is there a gap? Who are the players? Etc. They work closely with Legal to confirm whether or not the idea is novel, useful and patentable – the three requirements for IP. [Click box to advance.] Information professionals and librarians are focused on all information related to the topic at hand. They may/may not look at IP, depending on the size and scope of the company, but they will definitely be searching other sources: news, product reports, business listing, etc., to contribute to the evaluation of this area and idea. [Click box to advance.] Portfolio managers are part of this, but from a slightly higher-level perspective. They’re not in the mix doing the research, but they are looking at the overall portfolio of the company and identifying which products are performing, which aren’t, where there’s a gap, etc. They may have a particular focus on IP, but oftentimes will look holistically beyond that as well. [Click box to advance.] And, last but certainly not least, the business executives are the ultimate decision makers regarding the topic at hand. They take all the information in from the various people, groups and sources and evaluate it, usually alongside some of the teams who contributed, to hopefully make a prudent, profitable decision for the company. As you can see, there are many options for charting your results. What you are looking at right now, and what we will use for today’s example, is a map based on lane-changing technology that many major car manufacturers are in the process of developing. <CLICK to dim> Themescape is a visualization tool. <CLICK>Clustering is a analysis tool with a history in the Aureka product. What you see on the left is an example of what a cluster looks like. As you can see, a hierarchical folder structure is created. <CLICK> Now take a closer look. I’ve opened one of the folders to show more detail. <CLICK> Each folder contains subfolders and/or documents that have been linguistically analyzed. What happens is that clustering automatically harvests large amounts of text, extracts the key words and concepts and creates this folder structure whose contents can be further analyzed. Clustering provides an intuitive, visual interface for huge amounts of information organized in a manner which makes it possible to instantly recognize dominating (or absent) key words or concepts.
