2 Introducion to the Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving Day is a unique American festival,which started in 1621,and in President Abraham Lincoln declared the last Thursday in Nowember as a national holiday of Thanksgiving.Finally in 1941,congress declared that the holiday would be celebrated every year on the fourth Thursday inNovember.

4 Orgin of Thanksgiving Day
In 1620,the settlers sailed to America on the May flower,seeking a place where they could have freedom of worship.

5 After a tempestuous two-month voyage they arrived at the land icy November.
During their first winter,over half of the settlers died of starvation or disease.Those who survived began sowing in the first spring.

6 All summer long they waited for the harvests with great anxiety,knowing that their lives depended on the coming harvest. Finally the fields produced a yield rich beyond expectations.

7 Years later,President of the United States announced the fourth Thursday of November as Thanksgiving Day every year. The celebration of Thanksgiving Day has been observed on that date until today.
