5 What is a PTG and how do we get it?

6 As a parent, what is the PTG telling me? PTG
Years 6 – 9 年级 The PTG is the grade your child is expected to achieve based on the syllabus being taught throughout the year. It is not a prediction for GCSE examination results. Exception is Science (Physics, Biology, Chemistry) 除了科学课 Year 10 & 11年级 The PTG is the expected grade your child should achieve in their GCSE exams at the end of Year 11. Year 12年级 The PTG is the expected grade your child should achieve in their AS exams at the end of Year 12. Year 13年级 The PTG is the expected grade your child should achieve in their A2 exams at the end of Year 13.

7 So what if my child’s PTG is lower than I had hoped for
So what if my child’s PTG is lower than I had hoped for? Don’t panic! Teachers set challenging (but realistic) individual targets for all their students PTG’s can change during the year PTG

8 Behaviour for Learning (BfL)

9

10 Attainment Grade

A report grade that is a meaningful measure of the student’s attainment in the topics covered during the Term. The grade is underpinned by data but it also reflects performance in summative assessments, homework and class work. “C” grade is a passing grade.

12 So what if my child’s attainment grade is lower than I had hoped for
Don’t panic! Need to compare it against the PTG 需要与PTG比较 Working together (but the “right” work) – Student / School (Tutor / Hm / Teacher)
