2 羅馬書 1:16-17 我不以福音為恥．這福音本是　神的大能、要救一切相信的、先是猶太人、後是希利尼人。 因為　神的義、正在這福音上顯明出來．這義是本於信、以致於信．如經上所記、『義人必因信得生。』 Romans (ESV)1:16-17 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith,  as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.”

14 哥林多後書11:23-30 他們是基督的僕人麼．（我說句狂話)我更是。我比他們多受勞苦、多下監牢、受鞭打是過重的、冒死是屢次有的．被猶太人鞭打五次、每次四十、減去一下．被棍打了三次、被石頭打了一次、遇著船壞三次、一晝一夜在深海裏。屢次行遠路、遭江河的危險、盜賊的危險、同族的危險、外邦人的危險、城裏的危險、曠野的危險、海中的危險、假弟兄的危險。受勞碌、受困苦、多次不得睡、又饑又渴、多次不得食、受寒冷、赤身露體。除了這外面的事、還有為眾教會挂心的事、天天壓在我身上。有誰軟弱、我不軟弱呢．有誰跌倒、我不焦急呢。 2 Corinthians 1:10 Are they servants of Christ? I am a better one—I am talking like a madman—with far greater labors, far more imprisonments, with countless beatings, and often near death. Five times I received at the hands of the Jews the forty lashes less one. Three times I was beaten with rods. Once I was stoned. Three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I was adrift at sea; on frequent journeys, in danger from rivers, danger from robbers, danger from my own people, danger from Gentiles, danger in the city, danger in the wilderness, danger at sea, danger from false brothers; in toil and hardship, through many a sleepless night, in hunger and thirst, often without food,  in cold and exposure. And, apart from other things, there is the daily pressure on me of my anxiety for all the churches. Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is made to fall, and I am not indignant?
