2 《主要英语国家国情》课程教学大纲 一、课程目的
《主要英语国家国情》是英语专业的必修课之一，目的在于使学生了解英美等英语国家的历史、地理、社会、经济、政治和教育等方面的情况及其文化传统，提高学生文化差异的敏感性，宽容性和处理文化差异的灵活性，培养学生跨文化的交际能力。

3 二、教学内容、教学计划与进度 本课程内容多，覆盖面广，主要讲授英国和美国部分，其余章节以课外自修的形式处理；本学期计划上课16次，每次讲解一个章节

4 三、教学方式 授课形式：教师利用多媒体课件授课为主、辅以学生作课堂报告及小组讨论等形式。 教学评价：课堂参与、平时作业及期末考试。

13 英国国旗(national flag) 综合了原英格兰、苏格兰和爱尔兰的旗帜标志。现国旗的白边红色正十字代表英格兰守护神圣乔治，白色交叉十字代表苏格兰守护神圣安德鲁，红色交叉十字代表爱尔兰守护神圣帕特里克

14 英国国徽(national emblem)
英国国徽即是英国皇室的徽章，即红地上绘有3头金色雄狮，它们代表着英格兰；右上方点缀着鸢 尾花的方框中有一头跃立的红狮，是苏格兰的标志，左下方镶嵌在 蓝地中的金色银弦竖琴象征爱尔兰。一条嘉得勋章的蓝色绥带环 绕盾徽，上面铭刻着英国上层社会的一句格言：“恶有恶报”。盾徽 两侧分别侍立着一头英国王狮和银色的苏格兰独角兽，上方有一 顶金银相嵌的头盔，其上供奉着华丽富贵的帝国冠冕。盾徽底部的 白色丝带上英王的座右铭熠熠闪光：“神赐予我权利”。
