Since establishing Guthrie + Buresh in 1988, Danelle Guthrie and Tom Buresh have been exhibited in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, New Haven, London, Glasgow, Copenhagen, Berlin and Tokyo In 1998 their WaterWorks AWTP project received a Progressive Architecture Awards Citation from Architecture Magazine. 建 筑 布 局 1800平方英尺的WorkHouse是当地建筑外围尺度允许的最大值，为了不造成突兀的感觉，建筑师设计建造了两个彼此分离而又关联的单元，形成一种对话的空间，同时又对临街干扰起到了缓冲作用。

建 筑 立 面 —— 立面比较 1 workhouse的南立面以实为主，车库的架空打破了这种沉闷，而半透膜材料的运用在一定程度上使实墙虚化，整个建筑外观显得既轻巧通透又坚实有力。 车库 workhouse的北立面采用大面积的开窗使得局部虚实对比强烈，整体上又形成良好的虚实对比关系。 开窗

In opposition to the typical inward focus of the single-family house tract, WorkHouse develops shared visual spaces between adjacent structures, creating what the architects called an "optical piazza" that challenges the expected psychological opacity of the property line. 不同于以往典型的私人住宅，WorkHouse创造了一种共享的视觉空间，被建筑师本人称为“视觉走廊”。这是建筑师挑战居住空间私密性的一次大胆尝试。
