2 Mat13:3他用比喻对众人讲了许多事,说:“有一个撒种的出去撒种。4撒的时候,有的落在路旁,小鸟飞来就吃掉了。5有的落在泥土不多的石地上,因为泥土不深,很快就长起来。6但太阳一出来,就把它晒干,又因为没有根就枯萎了。7有的落在荆棘里,荆棘长大了,就把它挤住。8有的落在好土里,结出果实,有一百倍的,有六十倍的,有三十倍的。9有耳的,就应当听。 Mat 13:3 And he told them many things in parables, saying: "A sower went out to sow. 4 And as he sowed, some seeds fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured them. 5 Other seeds fell on rocky ground, where they did not have much soil, and immediately they sprang up, since they had no depth of soil, 6 but when the sun rose they were scorched. And since they had no root, they withered away. 7 Other seeds fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked them. 8 Other seeds fell on good soil and produced grain, some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. 9 He who has ears, let him hear.”

It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs. 11 But as for you, O man of God, flee these things. Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness.

44 威斯敏特信条 Westminister Confession of Faith
在1643年，查理士王（Charles）当政之时，当时的议院的议员有许多是清教徒（他们被称为清教徒，是因为他们热衷与正统的神学教义与敬虔的敬拜）。 这群清教徒是深受改教家加尔文神学的影响。他们期盼重整英国教会，于是在威斯敏特大教堂召开了一个大型的议会。

45 这议会中包括121位牧师，30位议院议员，及8位苏格兰代表。大家则一致认同改教家加尔文的观点，并否定罗马天主教及反对预定论的阿民念派。
经过三年的讨论，议会于1646年12月完成了《威斯敏特信条》，写出教会应当认信的教义。信条的内容是完整、精确、简洁、平衡的，因为每一个句子都经过小组的讨论及长久的公开的辩论。

46 这信条后来也影响了苏格兰的教会。之后也随着一些清教徒移民到美国，而成为了许多长老会的主要信条。此信条是加尔文神学，清教徒神学的结晶，共有三十三章，其特色有下列几点：
信条包含有关圣经、上帝、世人、基督、救赎、教会及末世的教导。

47 身为改革宗的教会之一，我们接受《威斯敏特信条》为我们所认信的告白。
未来的长老与执事们都必须认信 《威斯敏特信条》的整体系统中的教义system of doctrines。此信条的权威永远必须降伏在圣经的权威之下。

54 圣经证明了以色列无法遵守上帝透过摩西给的西乃山上之约。世人（罪人）无人能守住上帝约中的律法。
 （1）耶稣为我们完全守住了前约。 （2）耶稣为我们承担了违背前约所带来的咒诅与刑罚 （3） 耶稣把新约（神向亚伯拉罕和祂“后裔”立约的应许福份）白白赐下给了我们。

57 Heb 8:10 （耶31:31-34) 10 主又说：那些日子以後，我与以色列家所立的约乃是这 样：我要将我的律法放在他们里面，写在他们心上；我要 作他们的神；他们要作我的子民。11 他们不用各人教导自 己的乡邻和自己的弟兄，说：你该认识主；因为他们从最 小的到至大的，都必认识我。12 我要宽恕他们的不义，不 再记念他们的罪愆。13 既说新约。就以前约为旧了；但那 渐旧渐衰的，就必快归无有了。

58 圣餐提醒我们主与我们的约 耶稣说：这杯是用我的血所立的新约 圣灵把上帝的律法放在我们心里（爱神、爱人） 上帝要作我们的神；我们要作祂的子民。
重生的生命：从内心里认识神，有圣灵作见证 神要宽恕我们的不义，不再记念我们的罪愆。 不再靠旧约中的律法得救。耶稣拯救了我们。
