4 Can & Could could 为can的过去式。 表能力，意为“能” 表许可，意为“可以”
e.g. Can you speak English? 你能说英语吗? Could you speak English then? 那时候你能说英语吗? 表能力，意为“能” could 为can的过去式。 can & could 表许可，意为“可以” e.g. Can /Could I come in? 我可以进来吗? (could比can语气更委婉) Can I say something now? 我现在能说点吗？

5 May & Might 表允许： 即请求别人允许自己做某事，两者都可用，只是 might表示的语气较委婉(但并不表示过去)。

6 May & Might 表允许： 但表示给予允许（即自己允许别人做某事），通常用may而不用might.

7 Will & Would e.g. Go where you will (go). 你愿到哪里就到哪里。
She asked if I would go with them. 她问我是否愿意同他们一起去。 2.表示征求意见或提出请求:主要用于第二人称的疑问句中，will 和 would 均可用，would 此时并不表示过去，而表示委婉语气 e.g. Won’t you take off your coat? 你要不要把大衣脱掉? Will /Would you please post the letter for me? 请帮我寄了这封信好吗?
