一、关联词 【例句】 1. I think (that) safety is important during the trip. She said (that) she would be a polite visitor. 陈述句作宾语时，宾语从句用 ____引导。它在句中只起连接作用，没有实际意义，在从句中不充当任何成分，因此常可省略。 2. I don’t know whether / if I should take his advice. He wants to know if/ whether you are a guide. 一般疑问句作宾语时，宾语从句用___或whether引导。它们在句子中的意思是______（如果 / 是否）, 在从句中不充当任何成分，但不可省略。 that if 是否

10 一般来说，在宾语从句中if与whether可以互换使用。但在特殊情况下，两者不能互换。只能用whether，不能用if引导的情况：
1) 在介词的后面 e.g. I’m thinking of whether we should visit the museum. 2) 与or not直接连用 e.g. I don’t know whether or not they can get there on time. 3.I’d like to know where I can buy some tickets. 当一个特殊疑问句充当宾语时，由原来的疑问词what, who, which, when, where, how, why等作为引导宾语从句的关联词，这些词在宾语从句中充当一定的句子成分，都有各自的词义，不可省略。

Dad told me that the sun rises in the east. 宾语从句的时态与主句的时态息息相关：如果主句是现在的某种时态，则宾语从句的时态可根据实际情况而定；如果主句是过去的某种时态，则宾语从句一般要用相应的过去时态(宾语从句是名言、客观真理或自然现象等除外)。
