报告名称:Detection Nanomaterials for Security and Safety 报 告 人:Wei Chen 教授(Nano-Bio Physics, Department of Physics, University of Texas at Arlington, Texas) 时 间:2014年4月25日 上午10:00-11:30 地 点:逸夫图书馆中心会议室( 一层) 报告内容: Dirty bomb or radiation attack is a big threat to the world and the developing of high sensitive technologies for radiation detection is an emerging need. Also, the development of high-performance scintillating materials is essential for precision calorimetry in high energy physics, medical imaging and industries. The most frequently considered characteristics of scintillators are efficiency of energy conversion, stopping power, luminescence decay time, spatial resolution, and physical and chemical stability. Currently applied inorganic crystalline scintillators are not only limited by their high cost and scalability issues, but also limited by other intrinsic drawbacks. For example, high purity germanium must be operated at liquid nitrogen temperature, while sodium iodide crystal is highly hygroscopic. On the other hand, plastic scintillators based on polymeric materials are cheap and easy to manufacture, but have low light yield and low density. In this talk, I will present the strategy for how to design nnaomaterials based on energy transfer for radiation detection. In addition, food quality and safety are related to our daily life. In this talk, I also present the methods for the detection of water, ethylene, pesticide and E-coli in foods. 报告人简介:陈伟(Wei Chen)博士,德克萨斯大学(The University of Texas at Arlington, UTA)物理系纳米生物物理专业终身正教授。2006年至今,UTA物理系副教授、教授,UTA纳米技术联合安全研究中心(the Center for Security Advances Via Nanotechnology)主任。现担任生物医学纳米技术杂志(Journal of Biomedical Nanotechnology )副主编,美国科学出版社(American Scientific Publishers, California)主编,纳米科学与技术评论杂志(Reviews in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology)主编。多年来一直从事纳米技术的尖端研究,率先提出纳米颗粒自发光光动力学治疗癌症的概念,利用纳米颗粒使得放射治疗和光动力学治疗同时进行,有望用于深部癌症治疗。在纳米颗粒的热释发光和光激励发光(PSL)及其在放射治疗中的应用研究上一直处于世界领先地位。作为项目负责人,曾获得20项、共计约800万美元创新研究基金。已发表SCI论文近200篇,论文被引用超过6000次,其中一篇论文就被引用超过460次,目前他的H影响因子为38。主编或参编出版国外专著14部,获得专利7项,待批专利6项。 北京化工大学化工资源有效利用国家重点实验室
