Step 1 Preparation: Make a list of the materials and tools that we will use in the experiment. Water, a jar, a piece of cardboard. Step 2 Theories:  Write down two different theories. 1. The floor will get wet. 2. The floor won’t get wet.

8 Step 3 Main steps: Write down the steps of doing the experiment. 1. Fill a jar with water. 2. Cover the top with a piece of cardboard. 3. Turn the jar upside down. Step 4 Result:  Write down the result of the experiment. The force of air will keep the water in the jar.

11 1. I fill a jar with water. 我用水把瓶子装满。 fill …with… 用……装满…… He has filled his case with many books. 他已经把书装满了箱子。 cover…with… 用……盖住…… I cover the top with a piece of cardboard.

12 2. I turn the jar upside down. 我把广口瓶倒置。
You hold the book upside down. 你把书拿倒了。 right side up 是“正面朝上”的意思。

13 3. I’m sure the floor won’t get wet.
我确信地板不会湿。 be sure +that 从句表示“认为……一定……”。 而be not sure表示不确定。 eg. I’m sure she will come here. 我确信她会来。 I’m not sure when he’ll come here. 我不能肯定他什么时候来这儿。

我们将做这个实验并观察会发生什么情况。 observed 动词, “观察” observe sb. do/ doing sth 如： I observed her dance. When I passed by the grass, I observed him walking.
