11 The knowledge of God is participatory
The knowledge of God is participatory. It is reasonable to say that God can be known only in faith and love. The knowledge of God is “reciprocal”. Without love, there can be no knowledge of God. To love God is already to be on the way of under- standing. Seeing is a form of discernment and identification with what is known. A relation between the knower and God.

12 Their faith might mature (v.10) Their love might abound (v.12)

15 約翰一書 3:3 親愛的弟兄阿，我們現在是神的兒女， 將來如何，還未顯明；但我們知道，主 若顯現，我們必要像他、因為必得見他 的真體。凡向他有這指望的，就潔淨自己，像他潔淨一樣。 1 John 3:2-3 Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure.
