1 Dos and Don’t during Ghost Month

2 Every holiday has its special customs
Every holiday has its special customs. Taiwanese believe that in the 7th month of the lunar calendar, or Ghost Month, ghosts will come out from the Gates of Hell and wander around in the living world. The best way to treat these wandering souls is to burn ghost money for them to spend and offer food and drinks as sacrifices for ghosts to dine on. In the middle of the month, water lanterns light the way for the souls of the drowned.
