A.  Christ began His commendation of those believers by assuring them that He knew their “tribulation.” 基督鼓励这些信徒说他知道他们的 “患难” 1.  The church at Smyrna was facing intense tribulation, or hostility because of their faithfulness of Jesus Christ. 士每拿教会正由于他们的信仰经受严峻的患难 或敌意

2.  There were three reasons for that hostility. 受到敌意的原因有三个 a.  The city of Smyrna had been supremely devoted to Rome for centuries. 士每拿这个城市几个世纪以来对罗马非常忠心 b.  Secondly, the Christian's refused to participate the pagan religion in general. 第二, 基督徒拒绝参与异教

B.   Not only was the Lord aware of the persecution the Smyrna church faced, but also its poverty, but they were really rich. 主不仅知道士每拿教会面对的迫害, 而且知道它的贫穷, 但他们却是富足的

A.   Christ said, as they faced increased suffering:  "Don't be afraid." 基督说, 当他们受到更多患难时, “不用怕” B.    Their time of testing would not be for  long. 他们受试炼的时间不会长
