6 文藝復興 (Renaissance) Renaissance 一詞有「再生」的意思。泛指在十四世紀末至十六世紀時歐洲興起的一種文化，另一方面認同「人文主義」思想 – 以人為本肯定人的存在價值和意義，強調人和自然的重要，主張積極奮鬥及自由地表達人的慾望。 早期意大利文藝復興 藝術家受人文主義影響，亦重視科學精神，探研人體比例，常應用透視原理，運用光暗對比於創作上，作品上亦經常流露出對古希臘和古羅馬文化熱愛之情。
