The introduction identifies and addresses the topic of the enquiry and, in addition, expresses how much you appreciate the enquiry. The body includes supporting details. If the information requested is straightforward, such as a quotation on prices and catalogues, this part of the letter can be quite brief. You should either state the information or refer the reader to materials enclosed.
