Ali became a boxer because his bike was stolen. FUN FACTS Ali became a boxer because his bike was stolen. When the 12-year-old Ali’s beloved bicycle was stolen in 1954, he reported the theft to a police officer and vowed to punch (拳打) the thief. The police officer, who was also a boxing trainer, suggested that the upset teenager first learn how to fight and took him under his wing. Ali was also a singer and an actor. In 1963, Ali released an album, I Am the Greatest. The album included a cover (翻唱版本) of Ben E. King’s famous song “Stand by Me” and it was sung all by himself. As an actor, Ali starred in Buck White, a popular Broadway musical. Ali was scared of flying. The story took place ahead of 1960 Rome Olympics when Ali flew to Europe.
