Introducion to the Thanksgiving Thanksgiving Day is a unique American festival,which started in 1621,and in 1863.President Abraham Lincoln declared the last Thursday in Nowember as a national holiday of Thanksgiving.Finally in 1941,congress declared that the holiday would be celebrated every year on the fourth Thursday inNovember.

Orgin of Thanksgiving Day In 1620,the settlers sailed to America on the May flower,seeking a place where they could have freedom of worship.
After a tempestuous two-month voyage they arrived at the land icy November. During their first winter,over half of the settlers died of starvation or disease.Those who survived began sowing in the first spring.
All summer long they waited for the harvests with great anxiety,knowing that their lives depended on the coming harvest. Finally the fields produced a yield rich beyond expectations.
Years later,President of the United States announced the fourth Thursday of November as Thanksgiving Day every year. The celebration of Thanksgiving Day has been observed on that date until today.
