保羅站在亞略巴古當中，說：眾位雅典人哪，我看你們凡事很敬畏鬼神。23我遊行的時候，觀看你們所敬拜的，遇見一座壇，上面寫著未識之神。你們所不認識而敬拜的,我現在告訴你們 Paul then stood up in the meeting of the Areopagus and said: “People of Athens! I see that in every way you are very religious. 23 For as I walked around and looked carefully at your objects of worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: to an unknown god. So you are ignorant of the very thing you worship—and this is what I am going to proclaim to you

24創造宇宙和其中萬物的神，既是天地的主，就不住人手所造的殿，25也不用人手服事，好像缺少甚 麼；自己倒將生命、 氣息、萬物，賜給萬人 24 “The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands. 25 And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. 約翰—書5:20 “我們也知道，神的兒子已經來到，且將 智 賜給我們，使我們認識那位真實的，我們也在 那位真實的裡面，就是在他兒子耶穌基督裡面。這是真神，也是永生” I John 5:20 “We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.”
