To Die for the Lord, To Live for the Lord 为主而死，为主而活 To Die for the Lord, To Live for the Lord 若有人要跟从我，就当捨己，背起他的十字架来跟从我。（太十六：24） If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. (Matt 16:24)

为主而死的司提反 The Stephen who died for the Lord 司提反满得恩惠、能力，在民间行了大奇事和神迹。当时有称利百地拿会堂的几个人，并有古利奈、亚力山太、基利家、亚西亚、各处会堂的几个人，都起来和司提反辩论。司提反是以智慧和圣灵说话，众人敌挡不住。（徒六：8-10）

为主而死的司提反 The Stephen who died for the Lord Now Stephen, a man full of God's grace and power, did great wonders and miraculous signs among the people. Opposition arose, however from members of the Synagogue of the Freedmen (as it was called)--Jews of Cyrene and Alexandria as well as the provinces of Cilicia and Asia. These men began to argue with Stephen, but they could not stand up against his wisdom or the Spirit by whom he spoke. (Acts 6:8-10)

你们受了天使所传的律法，竟不遵守。众人听见这话就极其恼怒，向司提反咬牙切齿。但司提反被圣灵充满，定睛望天，看见神的荣耀，又看见耶稣站在神的右边，就说：我看见天开了，人子站在神的右边。众人大声喊叫，摀着耳朵，齐心拥上前去，把他推到城外，用石头打他。作见证的人把衣裳放在一个少年人名叫扫罗的脚前。他们正用石头打的时候，司提反呼吁主说：求主耶稣接收我的灵魂！又跪下大声喊着说：主啊，不要将这罪归于他们！说了这话，就睡了。（徒七：53- 60）

“you who have received the law that was put into effect through angels but have not obeyed it.” When they heard this, they were furious and gnashed their teeth at him. But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, looked up to heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God.  "Look," he said, "I see heaven open and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God." At this they covered their ears and, yelling at the top of their voices, they all rushed at him, dragged him out of the city and began to stone him. Meanwhile, the witnesses laid their clothes at the feet of a young man named Saul. While they were stoning him, Stephen prayed, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit." Then he fell on his knees and cried out, "Lord, do not hold this sin against them." When he had said this, he fell asleep. (Acts 7:53- 60)

效法司提反为主而死 To Imitate Stephen: Die for the Lord 克服习性上的欠缺 overcome bad habits 征服灵性上的懒惰 overcome spiritual laziness 战胜品性上的软弱 overcome weaknesses in our characters

为主而活的司提反 The Stephen who died for the Lord 弟兄们，你们晓得司提反一家，是亚该亚初结的果子，并且他们专以服侍圣徒为念。我劝你们顺服这样的人，并一切同工同劳的人。司提反和福徒拿都，并亚该古到这里来，我很喜欢；因为你们待我有不及之处，他们补上了。他们叫我和你们心里都快活。这样的人，你们务要敬重。（林前十六：15-18）

为主而活的司提反 The Stephen who Lived for the Lord You know that the household of Stephanas were the first converts in Achaia, and they have devoted themselves to the service of the saints. I urge you, brothers,  to submit to such as these and to everyone who joins in the work, and labors at it.  I was glad when Stephanas, Fortunatus and Achaicus arrived, because they have supplied what was lacking from you. For they refreshed my spirit and yours also. Such men deserve recognition. (I Cor. 16:15-18)
