Honest Honest is the best policy. Althought white lie are somrtimes necessary, they can still cause trouble. When you tell a lie, no matter how harmless it may be, it will stay in the listener’s mind. Also, once you lie, you will have to tell more lies to cover the first lie. Since liying can cause so much trouble, why not just be honest and tell the truth?

Honest is the best policy.為祈使句，祈使句以原形動詞開頭，省略you。 white lie表善意的謊言，反之black lie表惡意的謊言。 althought表雖然。 can後加原形動詞。 cause在這表引起。 no matter表就算。 once表只要。 since表既然。 so much表這麼多。 truth表實話。

Time Time is precious. Nobody can afford to waste time. Once time has gone by, it will never return. You can never turn the clock back. Time passes very quickly. In fact, people say time flies. Time and tide wait for no man. We should, therefore, make the best use of our time from now on. Why not start off today by setting a goal and msking a plane to reach it?

precious表寶貴。 afford表承擔。 waste表浪費 go by=pass表（時間）經過。 turn the clock back/turn back the clock表將時間到轉，回到過去。 Time flies是光陰似箭，為英文諺語。 Time and tide wait for no man為歲月不待人，tide表浪潮。 make…use of表利用。 reach=get to也等於arrive為達到。

Bad night When Bill went to bed last night, he forgot to slose his window. In the middle of night, it started to rain. The next morning when he got out of the bed, he stepped into a lot of water. His floor was wet, and so were all of his clothes.

when後加過去式的動詞，while後加進行式的動詞！ 因forgot （forget得過去式）跟close都是動詞，所以close前加to，為什麼不加ing，因為to及ing代表要去跟進行中！ middle表中間。 got out在這表起來=get up。 stepped （step的過去式）表踩。 stepped？為什麼要這樣用？不能用was stepped, was stepping或was step嗎？可以用was step，但不能用其他的ㄛ！因為他不可能正在踩；was是過去式動詞，stepped也是過去式動詞，一個句子不可以有兩個！

A story of kite Kites have been around for a thousands of years. The first kites were probably flown in China. Kites flying at night over houses were supposed to keep evil spirits away. Kites are easiest to fly in open spaces. The wind should be blowing between 5 and 15 kilometers an hour. At any higher speed, a kite is hard to handle.

have been表已經。 be around表存在。 probably表可能。 flown是過去分詞，也就是俗稱的PP，它的三態是fly --- flew --- flown。 keep evil away表驅邪。 blow表（風）吹，其三態為blow --- blew --- blown。 handle表控制、處理。
