中国农历新年为何称作春节？原因在于 中国农历一年有二十四个节气，其中立 春正好在农历年前后，所以农历年叫春 节。立春即春天开始的意思。 家家户户都在门口贴上大红色的春联， 充满了喜气洋洋的节日气氛。

9 两千多年前，正是中国的战国时期，那 时中国分为七个小国，其中秦国最强， 楚国最大。秦国计划消灭其它六国，独 霸中国。楚国一位大官（亦是诗人）屈原 主张联合各国，抵抗秦国。然而楚国国 王非但不采纳他的主张，反而将他革职 ，逐出京城。楚被秦灭以后，他悲痛万分 ，因而自杀。

China’s traditional festivals are Spring Festival, May 5th Festival and Mid Autumn Festival. Spring Festival is the first day of the first lunar calendar. Chinese people will have family reunions, eat the new year’s eve dinner, post the couplets and pay visit to each other on the new year’s day. Chinese people in North eat dumplings and southern people eat Tangyuan.

May 5th Festival is in memory of the ancient patriotic poet Qu Yuan. People eat Zongzi in May 5th Festival. The Mid Autumn Festival in on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month. People enjoy the Moon and eat moon cakes. The Moon is round. It implies reunion. The Moon symbolize the reunion of relatives and beautiful life.
